You need to set up a wireless network, basically go to control panel one one computer and under network, set up a new network, choose a file sharing one, connect other computer, and start sharing. Note that you can go on wireless internet at the same time though.

I fully recommend 'Windows Easy Transfer', it's very quick, transfers all preferences and files. It comes built-in to Windows Vista but you'll need to download it from the Microsoft website on XP. It'll be done over your wireless network and is very easy to do.

I'm a bit confused on what you want doing?..
I just use a USB memory stick to transfer from a desktop computer to a laptop..

Use the XP file transfer wizard to make a file, copy that file over to the Laptop, then run the transfer wizard on the laptop and tell it to use that file.

As stated above setup a wireless network either via jordy's way or Tawn just make sure you have the same network name on all computers and access to read and write, as otherwise it's a no go for the transfer.

Nonetheless thanks
