We will also be introducing forum awards to reward members who have contributed a lot on the forums.

Each category (there are 7 which we will be including - graphics on wards), the forum teams will pick one member who has contributed the most to the forum or was the most helpful.

We will also be awarding the top 3 users with the most referrals. Users caught cheating will be punished accordingly.

We will awards each user one month of Habbox VIP and the user with the most referrals will also receive 10 HC sofas.

Users who win consecutively will receive a "bonus" award.

Awards will be given out once a month.

I dont like the sound of the awards already. Do you?

Meh, they want more users so it makes sense for them to introduce it. I don't really like the sound of it but Habbox needs the visitors to justify keeping it running.

Err the only awards in the works are free VIP, as far as the changes I'm involved with we're not instating a badge system as of the current point in time, though I guess that could change. However that post wasn't meant to imply badge system.

tbh it's a good idea but all I can foresee is people endlessly posting "advice" in every thread in a bid to get the awards, and of course the wonders of 30 people all saying the same thing in a thread.

That's not how it works. The forum teams will be looking to select one person from each category graphics and below (excluding VIP sub forums), in total 7 categories.

We will obviously notice if a user is just posting the same thing as others or just spamming etc. It will not be based on statistics either so it's not "the highest poster in each category".

However this is encouraging news definitely, and this was certainly talked about by members in recent weeks so it proves they are listening (Habbox has ears too!).

The only bad thing is I can imagine loads of idiots crowding the technology forum replying to everything with 'I RECOMMEND NORTON.', 'TRY A VIRUS SCAN' or 'DO A SYSTEM RESTORE' attempting to snatch the reward by giving unhelpful replies to everything. I gather they won't win anything but it'll still be annoying, especially if they begin repeating what everyone else has said :(

Doesn't really need much effort to "last" so long as moderators keep reporting the best users. Unless people stop posting altogether :P Anyway, we're going to put it on a trial run, see how it goes.
