I think America will take home the most amount of Gold Medals as per usual, but I think China may give them a run for their money. It will be nice to see Great Britain rise from their 10th position in last Olympics :D

America always come up with the goods, especially with stars like Gay running in the 100m. Hopefully GB can get into the top 5.

I hope so, last time we got 30.

China beat Russia in Athens 2004!

Yeah I agree. It's not often that another country will get close to those top two spots other than probably Russia.

1ST - United States - 102 medals, 36 gold
2ND - China - 63 medals, 32 gold
3RD - Russia - 92 medals, 27 gold
4TH - Australia - 49 medals, 17 gold
5TH - Japan - 37 medals, 16 gold
6TH - Germany - 49 medals, 13 gold
7TH - France - 33 medals, 11 gold
8TH - Italy - 32 medals, 10 gold
9TH - South Korea - 30 medals, 9 gold
10TH - Great Britain - 30 medals, 9 gold

well that was in athens 2004 - but GB have improved alot since then. Should be interesting aswell because we beat France, Germany (i think) & Italy in the European Athletics, but then again we do have to rely on us doing well in the other events.

I think jamaica have more of a chance of winning in the 100m.

China. They're used to the conditions and have vastly improved on last time. The Americans have lost some of their medal hopes e.g Tyson Gay.

I'm gonna have to go with China.

I agree with China because of the conditions ect, but USA still have alot of talent. Is Gay injured? If so that leaves the door wide open for Asafa Powell to win the gold in 100m.

China were 2 gold medals behind the USA in the last Olympics, and China were on foreign soil, with a much smaller team.

I think that tells you all you need to know lol.

You can't forget Usain Bolt.

Oh yeah. Hopefully one of the GB young runners will get a medal.
Anyway 100m should be rather close - maybe even a record broken. Tyson Gay won the 100m in the World Championships in Osaka last year aswell.

I think that tells you all you need to know lol.I believe it was 4 medals behind the USA, but that's not much of a gap either.

China have 200 more athletes than in Athens and only 100 of their current team were there for Athens. It's something like 649 athletes in their team. China will win by a reasonable margin I'll say and Britain will greatly improve.

He runs in the 100m but fell in the US trials for the 200m meaning that he didn't qualify to run.

I hope China wins. Would be great for them to win the Olympics in their own homeland.
