Discuss this article: below (ahh you thought i was going to say here)

All I have to say is: calling one user better than the rest will start fights.

I AM LEGEND. :)

Well it's gonna cause more arguments. People will get really annoyed and be like *moan moan moan* buuut I'll wait till the first month that it's done.

Yes, I realised that it would cause more arguments that aren't needed.

Pyroka

No, they'd be arguments which are actually meaningful! The arguments on HabboxForum nowadays are just grudges between kiddies who think theyre hard with their big gangs. I miss the old feedback days! :(

Arguments are about egos now :)

Very true, thats why they'll never stop. ;P

I really wanna what this does though, I bet they'll not judge the spam forum!

Who's idea is it for a User of the Month? You would of thought they would realise that a forum of this size can't possibly have a User of the Month, it's unfair and somewhat difficult to choose one, which of course, would mean unfair results because it would not be looked into. They even say the forum is large, so you would of thought they would of taken a page out of their own book :/

There is bound to be disappointment, but I'm sure Management will answer that with, surely it encourages those that want to win, to be more user friendly on the forum.....

Won't work, if you put alot of effort into something, you usually expect to win, when the user of the month is announced, they'll get annoyed and it'll just cause more problems. If they want to better the relationship between moderators and members, they should let them talk to each other and better the relationship between themselves and the members, not just one member which is what the user of the month is

I'm not for it either, I left school some time ago, and don't feel the need for merits! I can also understand many feeling left out, maybe even resentful.

From the many forums i've been on that had this sort of member off the month system there was always corruption in the way the user chosen and it was always followed by arguments and rants targetting users. To be honest that's how it probably is going to turn out but hopefully it'll be sucessful.
I still think the so called 'member' off the month should get acess to the prize winners group.

Yeah, as soon as i saw this article i was like 'no'
it'll make the forum worse, and there's always the chance that mods will vote for their friends and st00f.

There will be many ways, you can get referrals, and there are several different categories to win in. Not winning doesn't invalidate your purpose as a human being or anything :P

We got it suggested, MAD and the rest of the GM team decided to go ahead with it, and we'll try it out. Hey, it might fail, it might not, we won't know till we try it out and after judging it we felt it had enough merits for a try at it.

But with the egos on this forum, winning only strengthens their status as 'rules of the forum'.

they is this 1 user who is very big headed and thinks he will win.

No offense msb.

On topic: obvs it will reduce arguments.

Its just wasting time on things we dont need. Habbox already has major issues with bullying already specailly in the spam and web design area, i think you should sort them out before giving users more chances to attack others ;)

THIS IS A GRAPH OF HOW RAGE LEVELS WILL BE WHEN THE USER OF THE MONTH IS ANNOUNCED:

japanese right to left (it was gonna be left to right but it makes more sense right to left)

note that nothing can be seen on the 2nd one below the rage, this is because the rage levels are so high that it cannot be seen

People care more when a legendary member gets banned, staff mean very little :P You hear about members getting banned and the whole forum goes crazy, but when a staff member is banned (which is quite rare, they're normally just fired), no one really cares as much :P

That would be my idea.

This is a great opportunity, at the moment it's only in simple testing, the first batch of users who have "won" will be announced at the end of August, however the idea was that this will promote positive and constructive posting because people will have something to gain other than just the satisfaction of contributing to the community in a positive way.

:)

Also, it will be monitored, people will notice if people are only picking their friends etc. I can only speak for the Entertainment section, but me and Sam definitely are not unfair. If we think you're making a very good contribution, you will be rewarded, and that is basically what this system is.

People cared more about her as a person, than a member of staff :P No-one thought of her position when she was banned, but the fact she got banned as a whole.

Back to the point - Don't knock it till you've tried it.

Kinda sucks that nobody knows I suggested it, thats JUST how much recognition I got. I'm fully willing to take the rap for this idea, if it's bad then I'll see it as my time, if it's good then my head will expand.

Ego boost, nothing better than that. Oh and free vip ;).

I still think it should be acess to a new usergroup with a different user colour. Also if I don't win, it means that it's an obvious fix :eusa_whis.

Isn't that discrimination though as you're singling people out who cannot win it when there (should be) an equal opportunity for all even though some people deserve to be shot in the head with a sawnoff from point blank range - but that defeats the point of this extremely long sentence.

That was the origional idea, which was mine, but the Management decided they didn't like the idea of a unique VIP because it will make members get "singled out"

Is that not the whole point of User of the Month? Clearly they're not thinking it through as thoroughly as they should :P
