ohh, okie pokie. In work, nearly every customer has a Maestro card but it's called 'Circus' for some reason. Might be credit cards that.

I believe "Cirrus" is the international Maestro. I could be wrong, however.

Solo has been great for me, it's purely a debit card, and is ideal for those with 'so low' amounts of money in their accounts, and in the 5 or 6 years I've never had a problem using it, as most stores accept it. NatWest cash machines are everywhere, another plus factor. You don't get a cheque book, unless it's changed recently, but I never had the need for one. You also can't go overdrawn as you aren't allowed an overdraft :P
Switch is what I am currently changing to, which has the Maestro and the Cirrus emblem on, courtesy of NatWest again :) When I start using it I will know more, but it is the step up from Solo.

Lol did you get one of those letters from NatWest telling you you're old enough to change to Maestro (or something like that)? It sounds very familiar :P

Oh I have that :D You could get it with your solo card, but my card is apparently a "Card Plus" account which might be why I have online banking. This new card I'm getting is a "Current Plus" account which gives me:
A Maestro Card
Online and telephone banking
Cheque Book
Mobile Top-Ups
And the ability to apply for an overdraft
The only new things are the maestro card, cheque book and overdraft, but I won't be using the cheque book or overdraft :P
Banking is confusing :P
Barclays Connect which is a Visa Debit card (Not a crappy electron :P)

Electron's and Solo's are designed for children and anyone with a bad credit rating meaning they cannot go overdrawn.

You are right, banking can be confusing, I didn't realise you could have online banking with a Solo Card, now being called the Adapt, which does have some really good features and benefits and is aimed at 11 - 18 yr olds.
Step account will be mine, I don't need an overdraft or cheque book :P
