The latest news from Underage Festival has been delivered from our team of reporters who are there, LIVE at the event.
We pounced on the artists and bands as they came off stage (or as they nervously approached it!) and asked them a selection of questions, as well as taking some photos!
Here, in the second of our live reports, we talk to Goldielocks.
You're about to go on stage - nervous?
I am looking forward to it a lot and have been for a few months now! I enjoy playing underage gigs as people aren’t worried about doing what they want. Adult gigs are a lot more stiff.
What will you be playing?
I am playing a bit of old and a bit of new. I’ll be playing with myself and a backing singer and I guess you could pigeonhole it as “Elector grime pop”.
Do you have any surprises planned on stage?
I am going to try a Mexican wave and see if that works. People love Mexican waves. I am going to keep my music fairly usual however as people don’t really know me yet and so I want people to understand what I am about.
Where are you from?
Well, I came from Croydon, which isn’t really that interesting, but as I said I started producing 2-3 years ago and did vocals on my songs, so now I do both.
How long have you been in the business?
I’ve been doing this for 2 years now, but still consider myself at the early stages. I released limited edition tracks initially through a small indie label called locked on who put out people’s early work. Now I will be releasing a single track on the 25th August.
Where are you thinking of taking all of what you have done?
I am not sure. I live in the now and enjoy what I am doing. The industry is very fickle and so one day this may not be here, so I am enjoying things as they go.
What do you find most challenging?
As a female artist it is quite different to write and produce your own music. The lyrics are also commercial, but the sound is underground and that is different.
Do you like cheese?
Some… cheddar, but not strong cheese. Who doesn’t like cheese anyway?
Ever heard of Habbo before?
No, I had no idea until 10 mins ago!
