Sorry if the spelling is wrong but the Spaniard Sanchez has won the Road Race. It was a very close finish with 5-6 cyclists able to nab the gold, but Sanchez gave Spain something else to cheer about in sports this summer - as this victory follows their Euro 2008 victory, Rafael Nadal's Wimbledon victory and Carlos Sastre's Tour De France win. It's also Spain's first gold in the Road Race I believe. (Or Olympics I can't remember what the commentator said :P).
Your thoughts? Was this an expected result for you?

Bloody missed it. I love the cycling. Hope he didn't free-wheel the last 100m like he did when he won a stage in the Tour de France.

He didn't, it was too close. He celebrated on his bike at the end a bit though.

His stage win in the Tour de France was close as well. He was always going to win. Rebellin hasn't got the best kick and Andy Schleck is a climber. Cancellara was too far behind, otherwise he would have caught Sanchez due to his time-trialling prowess.
