What error do you actually get?, post a screenshot as you're not being very clear.

You won't be able to repair it.

Unistall the program, and then download the installer again and install it from that.

If that doesn't work, it's not an error on your end. It must be something wrong with MS's servers

Look for

Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta

Or download this if you want

Windows Key + R
Type: regsvr32 softpub.dll
Restart MSN

If that doesn't work:

Launch Internet Explorer
Click Tools and then click Internet Options.
From the Internet Options dialogue box, go to the Connections tab.
Click LAN Setting. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN checkbox.
Make sure you have ticked: 'Automatically detect settings'.

Google the error code, it should help.

Yea it says your firewall may be blocking it

If your using your windows firewall, goto

Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall

Then choose "off" and select ok.

- Maybe a LIL different if you are using Vista as I am using Windows XP.
