Just for future reference, as far as I am aware, it takes 1 hour to update the ranks after a usergroup change, I think.

The database gets updated like every 1 hour or something, so if you just went into a new group it could take a while.

Indeed, the promotions are processed hourly however for example if you have recently moved off VIP or another usergroup change and therefore will return to bronze member as is the standard group you'll slowly move up the ranks hour by hour, which is why you will go from bronze to silver etc until you reach your actual rank. This isn't the first time I've seen a thread like this seems many people get confused 'bout it, might be an idea to add it to the FAQ.

Correct, hence why it was going through the ranks each hour untill OSH intervined and did it manually.
