yeah same im going out with my best friends ex, but it really depends on the situation.

In mine, he dumped her and got off with somone the next day, so he idnd't really mind that i was with her, just tell him and hope for the best, because he'll find out eventually.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, but you're best to tell him first as his initial reaction will be bad, but it won't be as bad as you 'keeping a secret from him', when it comes from someone else. Well, that's the impression it'll have on him anyway. You REALLY should've asked permission to ask her out, or to see if he was okay with it... maybe permissions not the best word, but an approval of it.

I went out with my bestfriends ex a while ago and he didn't know, when I told him he got a bit angry because he didn't like her and fought she was a complete *****. But I stuck to my guns and in the end he was happy with it, he just needed to get use to it, you'll be fine! The sooner you tell him, the better.

With regards to your situation; if he's a real friend, he'll understand - if not, he's not exactly a 'best' friend. After all, there's nothing going on between him and this girl, so what right does he have to complain?
