I know a lot of people have been having problems jailbreaking the iPod touch 2.0 firmware (Including myself). I have tried winpwn many times and have got a countless number of errors. I finally got it to work today. Here is my mini guide, using this method it only take around an hour but you can do other things while its doing it.

The method
Step 1: Uninstall iTunes 7.7 and Download iTunes 7.5 from http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/3402/ (http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/3402/) (Note to boot it up you may have to temporarily move your iTunes library file as later versions arent compatible with 7.5, you can find it at Music>Itunes. Its called: itunes library.itl)

Step 2: Download 1.1.4 (Touch not iphone!)
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=it&langpair=it%7Cen&u=http://www.****iocellulare.com/i****io/firmware/ (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=it&langpair=it%7Cen&u=http://www.****iocellulare.com/i****io/firmware/)

Step 3: Go into iTunes hold shift and push restore and select the 1.1.4 file. It will restore to 1.1.4

Step 4: Upgrade your iTunes to 7.7 from the apple website and download a custom jailbroken version of 2.0:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TGZVS9CR (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TGZVS9CR)

Step 5: Put the iPod in DFU mode (Turn it off, hold home and power and after 10 seconds let go of power and keep holding home) This video shows better:

Step 6: Go into iTunes hold shift and push restore and click the 2.0 file. Leave it to restore but if a pinapple appears after awhile on your iPod then its working.

Note: This could potentially damage your iPod which Im not accepting any liability for, it also voids the warrenty. If anything goes wrong then I advise a simple 'restore'

Ziphone is the easiest but it doesnt work with 2.0 of futher. Winpwn offers lots and lots of errors and few people have got it working successfully.

I know ive had about 20 different errors from it, the only way I could get anything working is in the first post. Has anyone got any good sources for 2.0 by the way?

Hmmmm....Downgrade to iTunes 7.5 first then install 1.1.4 on there. Thats what I did but I didnt think it would make any difference.

What in 7.5 if your downgrading to 1.1.4? That must be a problem with your PC/iTunes. Did you download the touch not iPhone version yeh?
