if a person under the age of 18 is let into a pub (this pub is a club sort of thing you can buy membership and get in free other have to pay a one off fee) and starts attacking someone who is left with a broken ankle the club/pub had no doorman or no panic buttons the person has been caught (the underage drinker )
can the person who was attacked sue the pub ?
ps i am not talking about criminal injury compensation

I don't think you can sue the club. I'd sue the attacker if he/she was caught and if that was my prediciment (being attacked.) not many pubs have a bouncer anyway. It's really not the bars fault if someone who has a membership comes in fists flying. They didn't sell him the membership to do so, they sold him it to have a good time. So it'd be the attacker being sued and not the club/pub. Surely?

i think pub rules are differnt to club rules i think they need a doorman also the club is liable for the attack surely for letting in a underage drinker in the first place
edit: is there any websites that would tell me about this sort of thing

The person who was attacked can't sue the pub for letting someone in underage, it's a completely different issue.
And i'm pretty sure there's no laws requiring a pub or club to have doormen.
most likely, no. it wasn't the pub's fault that the underage person attacked. someone can be 40 and still attack someone.

No the pub could not be sued for letting the underage person drink, but they could be heavily fined and potentially lose their license to sell alcohol. Also, the person with the broken ankle could press charges against the attacker.

You are a child, you can not sue anyone. Especially a pub who was not at fault.

Parents can sue on behalf of their child if under the age of 18.

Does this bar/pub have a sign saying "No under 18s" or "No under 21s"? Because if it does, they can get themselves in trouble with the government/police, but you can't sue them, especially if you think they need a bouncer, which most places don't bother with.

Are under 18s allowed in the bar? If not, then I he'd be classed as a trespasser.
The person attacked could sue the bar, end of. It wouldn't matter if the trespasser was caught or not, the bar is negligent in letting someone underage in, by not having a doorman/bouncer, whatever you said. It would have to be proven though, if there's no evidence that someone trespassed on the bar's land, then it would be harder to win.

it's not illegal for an underage person to be in a pub - just to drink right?
i don't think you could sue, they were attacked, so they could be charged.

Like someone said, it's not illegal for someone under 18 to enter a bar unless stated in the bar, which we don't know, and i don't think he knows either. Secondly i reckon it'd be pretty hard to sue for negligence saying that there's no doormen for protection, unless for example there's a history of fighting and violence at the bar., which i highly doubt.
