Now, before you start flaming.. this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

I've handled this pretty well, but I believe Habbox Management still have not.

I thought it would be unblocked by morning today, but no.. it still hasn't.

I asked another administrator last night, to unblock it.. apparently MAD wants it all to go through him.

Why couldn't another solution have been found?

Instead of blocking tehupload[dot]com why not just block tehupload[dot]com/sig.gif

That would have solved the problem entirely. Without people loosing access to my service.

What pisses me off the most, is that MAD didn't try to contact me not once.

Not an MSN message, not a PM. It could have been solved in five seconds, but no.. this is how it turns out.

It really disappoints me when I try and make something, and a lot of users on a specific forum use it, and they treat them like this.

Well why else would it be blocked? The image logged you out of habbo so if it was mistaken as a fake login tehupload,com/sig.gif (http://tehupload,com/sig.gif) would have been blocked not tehupload,com (http://**************).

Tehupload is the most common one on this forum. Plus I think the uploader that caleb made with firefox pissed them off.

This is why I believe there should be someone with better social skills, forums skills, management skills and communcation skills as the GM, usually they're active and looked upon, but these threads clearly show things differently. Why? TehUpload is a speedy and easy to use uploader, many people use it and its blocked on here, of course people are going to be annoyed. They didnt need to filter the whole site just one file, the motives to me seem obvious behind the whole 'blocking' thing.

However I categorically disagree with the comment that just /sig should have been filtered as if you did it for /sig it really wouldn't be that difficult to reroute a different image.

Secondly, I disagree that he should have notified you and waited for a response before filtering because the turnaround time would have caused more users distress, it was best to implement a quick fix and wait for a long term solution. He did give you notification on how to get it unfiltered by way of post in thread. I would assume that his results today have kept him off the forum for the most part.

Reason I stay here is because I like to help people, I try to help people and I also want to learn which is why I am here, because of people like Denta and Simon. Another reason to come here is it always brightens up your day especially when I see uneducated comments such as yourself's prancing around the "internetz". You made something in the htaccess or what ever it is called, my knowledge with this stuff is poor. But you did that, self admitted, why did you do it? For a laugh? I assume yes, but you laughed because it logged people out, which annoys people.

I can see where both sides are coming from. The image was obviously created for a bit of fun with no harm intended, but people became annoyed by it especially since just before it happened people were posting a code on the forum which done exactly the same thing and also got filtered straight away.

However, I also think that the situation could have been handled more carefully, and you should have been contracted straight away.

MAD hasn't posted since it was filtered so I assume he hasn't been online to deal with it. He did say that as soon as the image was removed he would unfilter it, so it's not going to do any harm waiting a little bit longer for MAD to come online and unfilter it.

I don't think you have the right to determine who is clever and who isn't for trying to blame someone for not breaking any rules... I can see how it annoyed people, but it's not like it was disconnecting people from something important, it's only Habbo where you're meant to have fun :P

Whether or not it broke rules, it shouldnt have been done, right? However I think MAD completely overeacted, some have said it was to prevent putting users at risk. They were never at risk, all it did was simply log them out if they clicked it, it was just a laugh. Maybe filter the image but not the whole site. But I think we all know the reason behind it.



Step 1. TehUpload gets blocked, all its HBXF images fail
Step 2. People have to think of a new image host, convieniently UploadPicz has a poll at the top of HBXF because its getting updates. People see that and thing 'That will do' and go there.
Step 3. TehUpload gets unblocked so MAD gets his 'rep' back but people are in the habit of using UploadPicz now and sto just carry on using that.
