I read with interest the above thread, where members couldn't give their opinion, but I would like to see what members think.

I think part of the problem is that we now have two trading currencies, something we didn't have until the Exchange was introduced, although Habbos did trade by other means before the Exchange came into use.

Every time a new Habbo buys HC for the first time, there is an increase in the number of HC Sofas in circulation and over time this has helped it become the most recognised item of furni to base values on, so quite clearly the HC Sofa is an item of currency, there is no disputing that.

If there were a Royal Mint at Habbo and we wanted to buy a gold bar directly we would pay 50 credits. If we bought in HCs how much would a gold bar cost us? How many HC's?

If we bought a sack we would pay 20 credits. The same price we now pay for our first months HC. Let's not forget it's not that long ago it cost 25 credits for your first month of HC. So has the value of a HC Sofa decreased?

If the cost of HC Membership was reduced to 15 credits, would this effect the value of the HC Sofa and what would the value of a HC Sofa be?

I find the value of credits quite confusing.

So do credits decrease or do HC Sofas? Anyone care to explain?

I see exactly what you mean. Because when credits first came out, 10 credits were traded per Club Sofa and hc membership was 30 credits at the time. So this was quite a big gap to get a Club Sofa from trade or hc membership. When hc membership went to 25 credits, hcs were beginning to be traded for 12/13 credits each. So the two solutions of getting a Club Sofa were beginning to get closer to each other. And now that hc membership is 20 credits, hcs are being traded for 14/15 credits and the two solutions are almost exactly the same. So if hc membership does become 15 credits, there will be a clash with the two solutions and I am a bit unsure what may happen, as it does depends what everybody does.

However, if this does happen I am pretty sure people may start trading there Club Sofa's for less credits as others will just buy hc membership on another account to get a Club Sofa. This would technically mean that Club Sofa's will have decreased in value as they can be traded for less credits and bought through hc membership for less credits. But because of Club Sofa's being the currency of habbo, it will seem as if credits have just simply raised in value, as less are being used to trade for a Club Sofa and credits will be valued in Club Sofa's.

I do doubt though that habbo will make hc membership 15 credits, as this seems a bit low. But I suppose, anything is possible with habbo... ;)

It's great you've replied, and just as importantly understood :)

HC membership has been reduced over the last two years, and there has also been, what some people might say an improvement in HC gifts, so not sure quite why sulake reduced it. Perhaps it was with the intention of introducing so much more new furni, as two and three years ago we were all complaining about a lack of new rares and just about everything else. There also seems to be a drive on collecting all the latest collectables.

Your logical thinking is probably right, we will have to see if HC membership is reduced in the future and if it is, what effects it will have.

Hey Alice, sorry for the late reply havent seen this thread. Over the past few week's I've been seeing credits to hc prices sore, I remember when they were released it was 10 per hc but now it's 15-17 per hc. I think there is more demand for hc's even if there is a large quantity on the hotel the rare values system runs on them, not just habbox use the hc as a base for trading but many other sites do aswell. I think credits are decreasing in value because I am paying roughly about 1hc now for about 16 credits and they are so easily obtained now. I remember when you had to buy credits via sms and people where selling them at 3-4hc per 25 credits, but as I have said they are easily obtained now and thats why hc's are being traded for more and more credits.

Well also I think it is the same reason why a duck isn't worth 1 cred as you can't buy any new furni out of the catolouge with a HC sofa either if ya get what I mean
