Hello all,

I know, another thread about Bright Wight Images. A certain other thread was getting heated, and was posted by a hacked account in the first place. I thought I should cheer up the spirit of this forum.

Bright Wight Images, as you all know, is a photographic services website, speciailzing in event, stock and motorsport photography. After the confusion with the previous website, I have spent today developing a new one.

www.brightwightimages.com

The image you see is a screenshot of the proposed index page. As I have a big event this weekend (16 hours of photography!), I have placed a splash page, as I did not get the website finished in time. This new website allows me to have more control over where and what I place onto the site. A big concern was the image display system - I am pleased to announce I have got my hands on a system just as fancy as the last one, to display the images!

Your feedback on the design/content would be great. I personally like the website - yes I know it is not in flash, however flash is not good for a photographic services provider.

FOR GOD SAKE. You showed us that layout in the last thread, you got feedback on it. You have your OWN site for updates, if people are intrested in it then they will visit it.

Darren, spamming threads will not re-achieve the respect you lost from us.

What I dont get is, "Bright Wight Images" isn't actually a business owned by yourself, it's just a domain you bought and a glorified name for your portfolio. So surely if someone owns the company name "Bright Wight Images" then they would be in a higher legal position and could have your 'business' closed for trading using their name?

Hello folks!

Sorry for the lack of updates over the past couple of weeks. As the end of summer approached I got very busy with work, and didn't have time to post updates.

Just so you know, I have been updating the website with photographs from the Steam Show, Garlic Festival and I am just about to upload photos to the remaining galleries. The website is working fully now, with the correct content.

I have taken a new photographer on board, Rob Gregory who will be working along side me at events. Further updates to come in the future, however it is now winter so not a lot is happening in terms of events.

You should really register BWI as a company or somebody could easily nab it.

I have already had threats for someone to register it, but I am only 15 therefore can not register it yet.

I think it would be very very immature for anyone to register it, with intention to ruin my business.

You are also a young and keen photographer looking to earn big bucks fast - this won't happen. It's great to see you're building up your portfolio but if I was you I'd get your dad to register it under his name which can then be changed when you're old enough (if you really want to keep someone from having it) Problem is there is a lot of photographers on the isle of wight and I'm sure some have seen BWI - they will then check if you're a registered company and if not they will take it. Just the way I see it :)

Excellent, I am not looking to make big bucks fast at all...infact I have been working on my photography for well over a year and a half, and not a penny seen yet.

It is all about building up experience.

Year and a half? :eusa_liar it has only been about 4months since you were asking people how to use your d-slr and now you're trying to advertise your 'business' which about 99.9% of people see is failing. What is the point on advertising all 15 of your Bright Wight Images threads on here... it generates no business and surely if potential clients do look you up they just see posts about you crying and being laughed at on here for taking photos of 9 year olds or failing to get into istock.

Personally, I think it's good how you've turned your hobby into a website and a business.

Indeed it did start off as a Hobby, however I have now moved it on into a business, in which I look to continue over the coming years.

The good thing is, I have selected a hobby which also fits in nicely to computing, which I also enjoy. I am looking to purchase a laptop to take to events, to provide a better service to my clients, with me being able to edit photos there and then, and show them on the screen. This would also be a time saver for when it comes to putting the images onto the website.

I am really starting to think outside the box, and to make this into a 'proper' business. I have had a few problems with carnival photography, however I am not looking to repeat carnival events next year - too much hassle! I am also not focusing on iStock like I did before. I still have my seller status, so its something nice to fall back on for some small income.
