View Full Version : Macbook Wireless Question?
Okay, so with me being interested in purchasing a MacBook, I just needed to know something. I currently have a D-Link Wireless router in my house and thats how I (On my desktop computer with a dongle) and my Sister (Compaq Windows Laptop with built in wireless) Get our internet. I have been looking through the Apple website and noticed that their is a Apple wireless router for your iMacs/MacBooks. If I was to purchase a MacBook with its built in wireless, could I use it on my D-Link router? I wouldn't need to purchase the actually Apple router for it would I? - Peter
No. Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi. It will work.

Hey there, All Macs have built in wireless known as "Airport", which you will most likely know. This can connect to any WiFi connection, it doesn't have to be a Apple router, can be Netgate or Linksys or any other brand out there. Hope this helps :)

As you probably have figured by now, yes it will work. I use my macbook I'm on now on a Netgear router :)
