She came 23rd in the Womens Marathon on her stress fracture. That is truly amazing. She shouldn't have been running, however her determination to finish after Athens 2004 gave her the willpower to do it. How amazing for her, and well done. Romania won, however Paula still has her World Record. Go her! :D

Its disappointing the chase group didn't make more of an effort to keep up with the leader and sadly we missed out on most the battles for 2-6 places as the focus was on the winner but well done to the Romanian, thoroughly deserved it.
I'm so glad Paula completed it, I feared it could be over when she went to stretch her leg but she continued, well done her. I hope she carries on and it looks like she will, maybe 2012 will be the time she feels real redemption perhaps. I don't know who expected her to do well in it anyway, the press got their hopes up as usual and with such a poor preparation it was inevitable she wouldn't win it, like she said herself you can't take shortcuts with marathons. So so much determination though!

She said she wants to compete in 2012 but although that other woman is 38 I dont think Paula will be able to win it when shes 38 :(
Besides, by then it will be dominated by Africans, those Kenyans are just too good! :P

In 2012 Paula will be running in conditions she is most used to, which is a big plus for her.

Paula Radcliffe is an incredible lady, I hope to see her race in 2012. She has a lot of determination, and if at 34 years of age, not 100% fit she managed to finish the marathon in 23rd place that proves how hungry and determined she really is to achieve her goals. I watched the marathon, she did well to finish.

I saw it yesterday and it was a v good race.
Shame to see people getting injured aswell as that china women who wouldnt stop even when she damaged something.
Radcliffe looked good but I saw she came 23rd today when i turned it off she was 2nd.
Hope she can wear the Team GB in 2012 because she is a good runner.

I'm really glad Radcliffe finished, but Mara Yamauchi finishing 6th was brilliant :)
Liz Yelling did suffer a nasty fall though, does anyone know if she did crack a rib?

I was watching the Olympics the other day and they were saying that the older you get the better you become at the marathon (obviously they mean older as in a 28 year old is better than a 22 year old.... not old as in 50)
As soon as Paula and Liz finished Paula was soo great; she went straight over to the paramedics to tell them to check Liz out. Liz went to hospital. Not sure what the outcome was.
Paula really did try hard x ... 2012 will be make or break for her career though.

I think 2012 will be the end of her career, she'll be 38.
She's the current world record holder and has won marathons all over the world, such a pity that injury has struck her down so many times.

I have no sympathy for her she shouldn't of been running but she did well to get what she did no matter how foolish.

She ran because she felt strong enough to run... She was determined more than ever to run after what happened in Athens...
If she hadn't of ran she'd of got a hard time off of the press back here aswell. She'd of been called unfit etc. Then that seriously could've been the end to her career.

She is an incredible lady to even have the determination to run and not give up. To finish 23rd isn't all too bad either considering she's been suffering with injury and didn't have as much time to train, I'd say she did us proud if I'm honest. She'll be better in 2012, she'll be running on home soil and hopefully she'll have more training under her belt. Well done Paula Radcliffe! :)
