Hey,

Right I am planning on buying some new speakers, but the thing is I am not sure what speakers to get!

I have around £50 to spend, and the connection should be a simple 3.5mm jack since it will be plugging into my Macbook/MP3 player.

I was looking at:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Z-4-Speaker-System-Black/dp/B000BSTXFE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1219083362&sr=1-6

I also looked at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Multimedia-Theatre-Speaker-System/dp/B0006LCMK4/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1219083362&sr=1-12 - But I presume this would be pointless since the connection wont be like 5.1

So yeah, any recommendations? :)

They do look pretty good, but I have to try and justify the £50 for them :)

But yeah, they do look like a strong bet for the moment :)

Can be used in matrix mode which means you only need a standard 3.5mm input for the surround sound. 'tis what i use.

Their in-store price £99.99, so around half price for them online is not bad at all. Also my freind has them on his computer and the sound is awesome. Hope this helped. :)

Just to tell you. Macbooks have built in Optical audio. So if theres some speakers with optical then also grab a optical lead with a toslink and it will sound even better

Able to recommend any good optical speakers within my budget? If not I think I will go with the Logitech Z4's :)
