Coldplay

Reverend and the Makers front man John Mclure has said the band are going to split up after their second album is released, Giving the reason that the music industry sucks, and he just doesn't want to be a part of it anymore.

He said that T4 on the Beach, which I was dragged to.
He is pathetic because he is vocally absolutely terrible. He can't sing and he can't even make speaking sound decent. He is a part of what's terrible about modern music. The crowd hated him because he outright sucks. No one will care that he's gone.

Nah, They're album 'The State of Things' is iconic, at least he sings about things which matter, and which people actually care about.
As he said at V 'Why not ask celebrities questions that matter, like what they think about Iraq, rather than what they had for their ******* tea'

There is no problem with modern music, it's not like your b-movie loving and modern cinema "/
Music atm is better than it's ever been. The music industry is just utter pants. They are all in it for squeezing the consumer and the band for every last penny, when it should be about the music that the band makes. Ask any band, and sure, some ARE in the money, I'm not gonna deny that, but at least 90% will say, 'Yeh, sure, it would be nice if people bought the album, but as long as people hear it, thats all that matters'
And besides, money is made in going to see bands live, which people find out about said bands by downloading and stuff. So no one actually loses out. Apart from the money grabbing industry. It's proven that bands benefit from piracy anyway

I should have re-worded my post as I meant that he is a negative part of modern music, not the entire state in itself.
As for the latter, it depends what genre. I can't stand indie for example because barely any of the vocalists can actually sing, that's what I say is a bad point of modern day music, but yes, I should have made it clearer that I was referring to that frontman in particular.

Who says they have to sing for it to be good? Bring Me The Horizon are an immensely popular band with critical acclaim and Banshee's can sing better than them. Punk, Grunge, Dance, Techno, Electronica... the list of genre's which don't sing is huge.
The music industry is swamped with bands trying to break through and that's both a good and a bad thing. Some labels will stick with the same sound, boring but successful, whereas others will push for the new, genre crossing bands which don't have universal appeal, but are probably extremely good

Grunge and post-Grunge rock should be left out of that group.

He looks like an idiot with his new hair cut anyway. I never really liked them, but will agree with the above that music at the moment is shockingly poor. No new bands are really grabbing me, just putting me off.

The Music industry is s**t these days, look at Arctic monkeys they where offered contracts by big labels but didnt take them because they knew what they where getting into its all money in music at the mo.
And about the post that indie is crap and that most indie singers cant sing look at the libertines, the strokes, Etc. Pete doherty cant sing and carl barat can barely to. But they still did it.
And for reverend and the markers what ever u call him (not a big fan) he said that he was gonna finish second album has stated before but he said he is gonna go on with his new band which has Arctic monkeys Ex Bass Andy nicholson and Ex babyshambles guitarist Drew something.
