Blog Layout [WIP]

This is a blog layout I started working on when I was bored. It’s far from finished I’m just posting on here to get some feedback on what I have at the moment.

It's nothing special, but whatever.
I know the sidebar boxes look lame at the moment, I’m still working on a better look for them.

I really don't like it, fonts are too big on the right and the background green is really horrible, for me personally.

Another thing I see is most of your layouts look exactly the same/ follow the same style.

Find one of my layouts that looks exactly the same as this one. If you mean exactly the same as in 2 columned then that's not exactly the same. Alot of sites have 2 column layouts.

It's a nice layout, but I don't see why a blog layout would need so many boxes.

Yes, but you wouldn't have that many, it would just be one tiny box.

I don't see why that annoys you so much haha. They're not exactly miles apart.

Its not really exactly the same but remove the colours from your portfolio and this layout and they are very close.

Why not try and use what he’s said to improve on this instead of just rejecting what he says, you post it as a WIP asking for people’s views (there opinions) and to give you feedback, try and actually use what they say to help improve upon what you can do, because if you don't you’re going to go nowhere fast.

I think what you should do is rethink the background of this design, I feel that just a change in colour will completely change the layout for the better, also again your staying along the same type of style, I would suggest you make 2 or 3 clan/gaming templates they are of a completely different style to what your currently designing and I think this could help you break this habit.

Well, I've had mixxed reviews on the green, so i'm unsure what to do. Every product is going to have something that some people wont like but others will.

As for the gaming template, I don't play alot of games except for PES or Madden NFL really.

I done a re-design anyway. Let me know if it's better or worse:

I removed the sidebar because it really was ugly. I'll redesign that layer.

Thats not the point, if you design a couple of clan templates and go back to your normal type of layouts you'll find that you'll have broken the habit of designing with the same style most of the time.

Also clan type templates is where all the easy money is. :P

i think people are missing the point. Its going to be similar to his layout at the moment because it has to be designed around that as the systems been created that way.

Very nice. Not sure about the green BG, seems a bit too bright to use it all the time but good job still
