Hello all,
Now I know that you will moan about another BWI thread, however it is my right to advertise my site. I have made another thread, because the new website has been fully launched.
All pages on the new website are complete, however just adding the rest of the images to the older event galleries. I have changed the whole style of the site, and included larger display images on each page. A new logo has been launched, and this has now been printed onto the business cards. In addition to the design changes, the Child Protection Policy is now ready for download, on the 'About' page.
I hope you all enjoy the new site. I personally love it, with the new image display gallery in place. Have fun using your mouse to scroll through the images! Any feedback is welcome, however please keep it sensible. As you will see, my new project 'WightWire' is mentioned on the site, and more information can be found out by clicking the link. I will be introducing the WightWire project shortly, and it could involve the better photographers on this forum, getting involved. Keep your eyes peeled ;)

My next event is the Isle of Wight Steam Show, a 4 day event in which I am the official photographer. These images will be uploaded as soon as possible, as I am off to Wales for 5 days (photography) 2 days after!

Bright Wight Images
looks great, nicely done. Could introduce something to make the picture bigger?

Thanks for your feedback.
Making the picture bigger then brings in the problem of people taking the images. Keeping them the size they are, people can only screenshot that size - pointless exercise. I know exaxctly how to do it, however it is just a matter of me having the time now to change the code and resizing the images.
I will look into this for the future, however for now the image display does its job.
Cowes week isn't working by the way.

I am aware. As I said, I am still uploading the images. I will get there...sooner or later xD
I am going to have some lunch and continue uploading images later this afternoon. I have some coursework to be doing between lunch and then.

great idea.
Images in the gallerys are far too small.

If you were really dedicated to your site, you'd pay for a decent template to be coded and also find a better suited forum to advertise on.

which takes time, which I do not have xd
Also John, I see no problem in using what is a very nice design (yes it was free) and developing a website out of that template?

it doesn't take long to watermark, just do the process for one portait photo and one landscape and save the technique in photoshop (forgot it's official name) then when ever you want to watermark just open up the photo and run either the landscape or portrait technique in in 5 seconds it's done.

you could even save it as a brush and stuff?

Indeed. I have a lot of work to do for clients over the next 5 days, then 2 days break, and away for another 5 days.
In September I will focus more on getting my images sorted etc. 15,000 images on my HDD :(

As said in the other thread (3 threads back) the site is horrible. You claimed to be a designer before so why don't you stop being lazy and design one? Nobody likes free scripts and all you're doing is leeching off peoples work.
It is your right to post here but it's not your right to spam the forum everytime you have a rubbish update, get it?

I have had mixed feedback regarding this new website.
I personally like it, and it will be staying. Where it was a free template, I had all the coding of the template done, allowing me to focus on changing the look and feel of the site and the positioning of the content. I was not going to put any money towards paying a web developer to make me a website, when I could just produce my own.
I am not spamming the forum, I am just updating users, of an important update to what is a growning business.

I have edited the gallery display system, not to use Lytebox. I am still finishing off the website, however that will not be till Wednesday due to this 4 day event.
First day of the event offer, and what a hot and busy day it has been!

Also I am having a little bit of problem getting the alignment correct, as you can see from the link below. I need to remove the bloddy orange arrows.... tips?

Anywhere in the stylesheet! At the top or bottom lol, or anywhere where you have already defined "a"

It would be a good design IF:
1. the galleries all used the same script
2. you spellchecked the site and checked it yourself
3. it used "alt" texts, not hard to add. I hate looking at an image and finding myself dumbfounded at what it links to because it has no "alt" text to back up my thoughts.
Oh and also if the gallery images actually worked for me (only the Garlic Festival images work and they are layed out in a different format and the link to them on the home page doesn't work...
Why not just ask somebody on the forum to make you a layout? I personally would be willing just for the experience as I am very bored at the moment...

Mountain, these are all problems I know of. I am trying to get one image gallery working perfectly, then copy it to all pages.
The website will be spell checked again once finished, and I will add alts to the images.

and I will add alts to the images.
Does that include all buttons?

I will add little nametags to them as well if you wish xD
