Spanair crash at Madrid Barajas

A Spanair (MD82 - I think) crashed at Madrid Barajas a short while ago.

At least 25 confirmed dead at the moment, lots injured.. Conflicting reports of what happened - Possible engine fire on departure, rotated then lost altitude and crashed just short of the runway.

I just heard the left engine set on fire, and on attempting an emergency landing the plane split in half. Confirmed 40 dead, 19 injured and possibly upto 100 dead according to a paper.

Its such a shame. Will be interesting to find out what truly did happen.
