MSN; Squares issue?

I've seen this for ages, and its never really bothered me till now.

You see the little squares? Well they're supposed to be like those little hearts/music symbols you can get on the internet (✩♥) etc.

Does anyone know why I'm getting these, or better yet, can tell me how to fix it?

i would guess at it depending on what msn ur using. upgrade and they will be gone. Because they have colour in their names its one of them other versions right?

The color is from messenger+
but yeah update your MSN version and they should appear, just check the MSN website.

are you sure they are stars and hearts? could be japanese or chinese characters if so you'll need a language pack.

Yes, I'm sure.
I can see japanese or chinese characters, thats the wierd thing.

Im going to check to see if theres any updates now, but I usually get notified if there is any, and I haven't.

The thing is, my Lappie and comp were on the same version and the lappie didnt get an update till like a week after, so you might want to check the MSN Page ;)

Could be a series of issues, maybe the person you are talkin to is using another copy of msn, eg, MSN+ plus so on.. Maybe has a beta version or it might be you dont have his Smilie pack.. weird..
