You can't stop the beat as Sky1 takes to the stage for a brand new all-singing, all-dancing family entertainment spectacular.
Hairspray: The School Musical takes one unsuspecting London high school & gives them the challenge of a lifetime: To audition, rehearse and perform a West End worthy performance of 'Hairspray' in one summer holiday.
In front of their school, friends, family, and a celebrity-filled audience, the cast will perform their version of Hairspray in a West End theatre, experiencing the true glitz and glamour of show business.
With the help of host and mentor superstar Denise Van Outen, these students will be offered the incredible opportunity to train with the best in the business, as Denise invites an array of celebrity friends to give intensive master classes.
Jospeh star Lee Mead will pop in and Mary Wilson of The Supremes gives a 60s masterclass. Plus, from the West End production, Michael Ball, Ben James Ellis and Leanne Jones will also help out the performers chosen to play their respective characters.
All the while, the kids will be racing against the clock to master their craft in time for their curtain call.
Hairspray: The School Musical follows hardworking students just like you on their rollercoaster journey from the playground to the stage; with romance, tantrums and tough decisions along the way.
