Oidz, tbh when you first join habbo you might not have a flying clue about what a username is about, and may just use words like cuteyputey594, when they want to change to one with mabye lesser caracters or find a name they want, they cant wish back a year or two ago, when they allready have badges/g hc!

Actually I had same problem I joined habbo 2004 and I should of sticked with bloodkane which was made in 2004, but now its Oidz but I like the name oidz but I want bloodkane :(

To many things would happen like scamming then changing names and stuff. Maybe they could allow it but you have to come up with a good enough reason before they let you change.

No, you keep you friend lists and everything, just you change your NAME.

That is a point but maybe there could be a delay. So it could take up to 24 hours for it to change or something.

Yeh exactly, If someone scammed me and they did a runner and changed there name then I wouldn't be able to find them.

You shud be allowed one every 2 wks/month and you would get a set day to change it. Would stop scamming problems to do with this.

They should have the following requirements:
- Registered your Habbo at least 6 months ago.
- Can only change it once a month.

If that fails, at least let us pay for one :P

They need to make a script that removes all accounts that haven't been logged into within three years. I'm tired of trying a name to find out it was last used in 2004!!

You should be allowed to change your name about 3 times, and then if you want to change it again you have to appeal and give a damn good reason why.

I think it would be a good idea to have name changes without creating a new account, but habbo would have to look into the idea very carefully if it went ahead because of the risks involved.

Wouldn't really matter, they could just have a history of who has had the username and it will log it by their account-creation/user-id code (little code you will see in the url's of homepages; "/home/990009/id").

A few problem(s) with this are:

- As soon as someone has changed their name then, you can gaurantee someone will come steal your old name on their clone and pretend to be you, just for the fun of it..

- People will be changing your username when they've hacked you, so they can use the name for themselves (if you have a decent name).

Probably some more minor ones, like people constantly changing their usernames will be annoying.

If you want your name changed so bad, then go make a porn site/illegal website and name it your currect username.. or try and name a drug/sex act after your username and tell habbo you want a name change because of it and they might do it. :rolleyes:

That's just like making a new username, there not going to give you one allready registered, i can see where your coming from, but i think you got a bit mixed up.

They could do this but with a charge. People will always change their name if it was free and it would get soooo confusing as to who is who after lol.

The idea has been suggested too many times and I'm sure Habbo have heard of the idea, so I doubt it will come in, maybe one day when the demand is higher :8
