How the hell is Colchester number 9? I live close to there, and it's not a happy place nor a sad place. There's no real buzz of anything :/ Chelmsford is a weird number, but that's more of a positive place than Colchester.

You have to look for the boroughs.

"Eight of the top 10 happiest places are in Scotland and the north of England, the study shows. Greater London's only representative in the top 40 is the borough of Sutton at number 14. "

Rest of London must suck :P But as Geraint said, look for the boroughs. Ipswich isn't on there, and that's quite a big town in England. The only thing near Ipswich is the weird District Council offices it seems :S

wow. Manchester is 2nd happiest.. although I don#t technically live in Manchester, but Stockport 191 I thought Stockport was better than Manchester seeing as though Manchester = full of bums but I guess Stockport is full of scallywags.

That's what I thought. But then I realised that the town in Greater Manchester that I live in was on the table. I went down 189 places.

I live in Manchester and I can confirm I am very happy here as are all the people I know here too. Also one of the great things about living in thid city is that friends and family who don't live here, are always very happy to come and visit and love spending time in Manchester - there's lots to do, a very young population, and plenty of jobs too. Good neighbours really help as well.

You ******* what? All either wrong or seeing the (non-existant) good side of things.

Emzii.
