I do believe it's only that file, I loaded portal and other games no probs and my other files and folders work fine. Just that that has issues.

heh - spent all evening reinstalling XP, went to go and have a nice relaxing game on Colts and that happened. Could just install steam off external, copy everything but that across and reinstall tf2. Hm...

You can either do it the hard way or the easy way.
1) Via the command line.
/// Or..
2) Via a program called unlocker.

Unlocker is a brilliant program, which I use alot as I always get errors like it. It's fast and does the job well.

I think someone else has posted a download link, but if not;
http://ccollomb.free.fr/ - Click on 'Unlocker'

Why cant you just redownload the game

Jamesy

because the file is corrupted so windows can't do anything...? Will try Unlocker this afternoon.

i think unlocker will only delete the file if it's in use by another program, not corrupted.
