Ok, TeenvB.org has made a pretty good start in just it's first month as a forum, and although most basic things have been done, there is still one crucial element which is holiding back our progress, and that is members.

We already advertise on a number of websites, and we intend to get more visitors coming in the future, so my question isn't how to get visitors (which is only done by advertising?? (im asuming im right)), but how to get these visitors to register.

What recommendations would you make on how to get the visitors to actually sign up, perhaps the content wouldn't attract you to sign up, maybe you wouldn't because of the skin, or maybe the lack of threads or posts?

Additionally maybe you could recommend mods, or offer ideas which would appeal to a guest (you) to register on the forum?

Hey,

I think you should get rid of adverts for now, or at least get rid of the ones on the right hand side and bottom :)

ah well they can easily be removed by premium membership, thus encouraging people to join the community don't you think?

Do a competition to win an iPod touch or something. Next 100 people to register get entered into a draw and one gets randomly picked.

Something like that?

Edit: And they have to have atleast 5 posts that are not marked as spam as well as being registered (for example).
