.. it should be hitting New Orleans pretty soon, could be as bad or worse than Katrina, I think it's a Category 3 storm now, the whole city of New Orleans has been ordered a mandatory evacuation and people who choose to stay will have to fend for themselves.

www.cnn.com for more, anyways thoughts?

The storm has now been upgraded to Catagory 5

This catagory can reach up to windspeeds of up to 125MPH and is the strongest catagory

And yes, there has been a matadory evacuation,

I believe that the winds as we speak are getting stronger and are already up to 30-50MPH

I just hope for the best as they have only just finished re-building after the Hurricane 3 years ago

I dont know how they make up these names for the Hurricanes, there so silly!

Well if you're laughing at that I can laugh at the fact you don't type proper English. All lowercase isn't English, haha.

Lol didn't really think it through when they said "It won't be downgraded" when it's now a category 2 hurricane. So now it's not going to be as bad as Katrina, but still quite bad.

To answer the question about naming hurricanes/typhoons etc, they alternate between male and female names in alphabetical order. So it could be Annie, Ben, Charlotte, Dirk, Edith, Frankie etc etc.

Eek people died in Louisiana. I'm worried about my mate who lives there, we get along really well... Agh he didn't evacuate because his dad works at the hospitals, so I'm really worried about him.

It hasn't, weather.com says -

It has weakened to a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 80 mph.

Look at that! Eek please, at Hanna especially... What timing. Gustav is losing its power as it's going over land, like everyone said.
