They are both copyrighted. The paid version removes all visual (non-source) "powered by cutenews" comments.

There is some base64 code at the bottom of one of the files which needs to be removed.
I thought you could just put in a fake license number, theres some on this forum somewhere cant remember where, but it looks like you've registered and all, removes copyright and all that?

I've seen a keygen app for cutenews, and the nulled files floating around warez-bb. :)
