I believe its possible or in the making in the next 2-4 years. I saw a documentry but I cant remember It was to like put light in the eye. its simple really. There will be a way soon.

And why, are you partly blind?

Depends what is wrong with your eyes to cause you to be blind.

Mikey on Big Brother was saying the other day that in 30 years it would be possible for him to get his sight back. I could imagine it to be expensive also. Why anyway? You must be worrying about something to ask the question.

That would be so weird being able to see after being blind for so long

I guess it depends how bad it is because you have operations so you don't need glasses anymore so I guess they can do something to make your sight better if your going blind or something.

Well it costs from £395 per eye to get your sight back from wearing glasses (according to the laser eye treatment advert), so I imagine it would be very expensive to restore your sight from being blind.

Im just wondering, because if Mikey from Big Brother won, i would of thought he would spend the money to regain his sight back.
My eyes are fine....

You can get eye transplants, but there is a huge waiting list, and it costs a hell of a lot.

Depends on how blind you are,
What type of blindness you have (e.g if it's your actually eye or something)
adno. or part of the brain noth functioning right *knows nothing about eyes+brains*

But yeh, I think it is being developed and would probably cost LOADS.

it shouldn't be so expensive to get your sight back. sight is important to you + should be given free so if it was possible i'm sure people would get treated for it so i doubt it.

99.9% chance they would charge for it

First time I have heard of that. Their shouldn't be a waiting list for that. Kinda sad.

With the NHS Donor Scheme you tick the organs or parts you want to donate if anything ever happens to you, and the sad fact is that not a lot of people tick "eyes". I know I didnt :(! Everything but! So because there is an extreme shortage of people actually wanting to donate the parts, there ends up being a huge waiting list. But eye transplants are possible!

I think people should donate their eyes when they die.
But i would hate doing the surgery, because it be quite scary and tense.

The NHS would provide it free if there was an operation to repair your eye so you can see.

No they wouldn't, there’s a pill that the NHS has just got rid of because of the cat, it can help prevent the loss of sight from some sort of disease, don't have a clue what it’s called it was on the news the other month and people were having to pay £1000s for the pills.

I guess that if there is a big enough of a public outcry they would have no choice.

I thought the J & F keys were 'bumped' (that sounds kinda wrong lol) because they show the home row keys (asdfghjkl;) for touch-typing?

My mum is partially sighted and has a Magnification and Voice program called ZoomText which costed her about £600, double the amount of my PC (even with an upgrade to Vista Ultimate it'll be less). She might donate organs (other than her eyes, obviously), my Dad probably won't because he has arthritus, I might (my eyes work) and my sister won't (for no apparent reason). That's unless if the world ends..... Oooooohhhh..... Sorry.

I belive there is somthing along the lines, where they can beam an image into your eye, but its only a temp thing, once the machine is switched off, your back to seeing nothing

Rather to be blind from the start
than to have vision and have lost my sight.

Im sure I remember seeing on tele or hearing on the radio that they've made something that will capture light for you and send messages to your brain which allows you to see. Dunno if that was a permanent thing someone can have in their eye or not though.
