So, when you make a new account you're first 10 posts have to be approved by the moderators and I think it's a little stupid. Firstly, why 10? Yeah, it'll mean that trolls/whatever will give up easier because they can't be bothered but I think at least 5 is what it should be. Especially with the time taken to have your posts approved, they'd give up anyway.
It's just stupid overall because no matter when you post, it'll only appear when the mod approves it, whenever that may be and then it may not even be worth while then and be completely off topic. And if you posting trade threads, you could have traded the thing before it appears or not even remember or whatever.
But that's just my opinion, it should really be cut down to 5 and maybe you should have some moderators that job is just to approve posts so that you aren't pulling the other moderators from their original duties.

Actually it's 15 ;)
It's not just for trolls, granted it's a benefit that it catches those who return to cause trouble, it's also designed specifically to target spam bots. HxF used to fall fowl to these spam bots quite regularly, threads advertising lOw loW PriCe Nike Jorda!n Traners (prime example of the title of one such thread) were sometimes left for hours at a time because either no one reported them or no one was online to deal with them at the time. There were usually 5 or 6 threads made in all sorts of different sections so ideally a Super Moderator was the only one who could deal with the situation quickly and effectively and ban the spam bot behind the threads. As a result of the approval system spam bots no longer exist on HxF which automatically makes the system worthwhile. :)
Amongst all the vague 'whatevers', I picked up on who you're blaming, the Moderators, surprise, surprise. :P
Approving posts is part of a Moderators job role, although it's not at the top of their to do list, they're meant to focus on their own section(s) and assist the Super Moderators by pointing out problems in other sections. Neither is it top priority for Super Moderators, they're mainly here to issue the long term punishments (bans, cautions etc), help out the Moderators when they need it and carry out the overall moderation of the entire forum which is a huge job in itself. Hiring someone for the specific purpose of approving posts or designating the responsibility to one person wouldn't be an efficient use of the Moderators time because there's usually only a handful of genuine posts and threads to approve on a daily basis so it's both a dull job for the Moderator and a waste of a perfectly good member of Staff who could be doing other things. It's easier to have every Moderator on the job doing all the different jobs they can do. ;)
Something else I noticed while running through the unapproved posts is that your only outstanding unapproved post prior to this one was made at 22:09, just 5 minutes before you made this thread complaining about it. Please have a little patience, as I said earlier, it's not top of the Super Moderators agenda and they're normally very busy dishing out punishments and helping out members with problems. :)
