While my years on habbo, i have found out many habbos abuse the call for help, and flood it, and use it for the wrong reason's (e.g, "my girlfriend dumped me) I wrote this guide a while a go, and decided to put it up on habboxforum. Enjoy - Nytex
When to Call For Help
Swearing - Yes, a Call For Help should be made if you clearly spot someone avoiding the filter & swearing. This goes for any sexually explicit language too. However, please do not call for "bobba". This is not avoiding the filter, and it might not possibly be swearing. For example, if you attempt to say the word "successful", it will come up with a "bobba".. which is clearly not swearing. Although, if you see someone calling out, 'you bobba', then a call for help can indeed be made.
Flooding - Flooders can be very irritating. If you spot one clearly using a program to flood extra fast, they are breaking the Habbo Way, so therfore.. make a CFH. A Habbo spamming repeatedly is also ok to report via the CFH, alothough you can click the ignore button, which makes things alot simple.
Scamming - You'd think that ALL forms of scamming should be reported via the CFH button right? Then you are incorrect. Scamming cases that SHOULD be reported include: Password scamming, advertising a scam site, offering 'free' credits in any form, asking for passwords.. etc. (see Scam List thread for more) Scamming in 'race/fallin furni rooms' may also be reported via the CFH, but please make sure you're observed the room & are pretty convinced that scamming is taking place. DOn't just walk into a race room & report it for the fun of it. Its just wasting Hobba's time.
Harassment - If someone is obviously giving you a hard time, then please don't hesitate to make a CFH. ANY type of sexual harassment should ALWAYS be reported via CFH as soon as it happens! Making a CFH regarding harassment via Console would be pretty pointless, as we cannot read Console logs.. simply remove them from your console in this case rather than make a CFH.
Harassment can also take on the form of 'hate rooms' (ie. ***** is a scammer!! rooms), in this case.. you would be a CFH asking politely for a Hobba to remove the rooms. In any case of harassment, do NOT fight back with your own insults, or you may also find yourself banned. Again, you can ignore the habbo as well, but sometimes its best to get the habbo kicked off.
Scripting - Making a call claiming '**** trashed a room' would be pretty pointless, as hobba's and MODs have no proof at all that they did it. It's very tough for hobbas to catch scripters in the act, so please don't go psychotic at us for not banning due to lack of proof. As for furni in walls, you can grab that out yourselves by using the :furni tool. If you see someone offering 'scripting programs', or admitting to using them, then yes make a CFH right away. The habbo will be perm banned.
Doorblocking - Pretty obvious this one, but making a CFH would be the best option in the case of doorblocking. Before you call however, please make sure it isn't the room owner themselves blocking the door.. as they are perfectly entitled to block their own doors, lol. The habbo blocking will only be kicked out of the room, and will not be banned.
When NOT to Call For Help
Lost account - If for any reason you have lost an account due to it being stolen, then you would need to email Habbo via GSC/Scambusters. Please be sure to mention details regarding that account.. such as: Date of Birth, Email you registered it with, Bans, Whether you've purchased credits.. etc'. Calling for Help is not the best option, as MODs simply don't have time to sit around for 20 minutes restoring accounts, it is not in our job description to do so. Also, if a MOD were to go restore an account, then many calls will go unanswered.. including serious calls such as Sexual Harassment.
Banned - If for any reason you have been banned, please make sure it is a permanent ban before going ahead to email GSC. This means waiting at least 7 days before doing so. Calling For Help will NOT get you unbanned. If you feel the ban was false & that you are 100% innocent, you should email GSC & explain this to them.
Casino Scamming - Many many Habbos end up being scammed by casinos. You may think it's a good idea to Call For Help if you've just been scammed at a casino, but.. it's not. Why? Well for a start, YOU are responsible for your furni. It is YOUR OWN risk if you wish to willingly hand over your furni in the hope for more. Another reason is lack of proof, Hobba's chatlogs don't give any evidence if the casino is scamming. Niether Hobbas or MODs have tools to track trades. If you wish to gamble at a casino, please remember that you're doing it at your own risk. If you end up being scammed, you will not be refunded by Staff. The only thing you can do is report the scammer to Scambusters.
creds for rares scam - This is similar to Casino Scamming, you do this at your OWN risk. We again have no proof of Habbos making the trade. The only thing you can do is report them to Scambusters & think twice before trading rares for credits again. I would strongly advise you never to trade credits for rares, it very often results in scamming. Also, please do not retaliate by making "**** scams!!" rooms, as it will just result in yourself being banned for it or asked to change your room names. So its pointless. Make sure you dont call the scammer rude words, as you could end up getting banned. That would be one bad day on habbo.
There are other scams, but use your brain in working out what to do, from the other scam situations.
