More and more people are getting hacked and it is happening because they don't know what they are doing. Because they are unsafe without knowing it they are very vunerable to hackers. HxHD mostly help people with Habbo but I think Habbox should make a new kind of helpers. These helpers would have to be superb at safety so they can help us all to keep safe. They would do things like; Make guides on how to make a very safe Habbo account, Tell us how to keep away from hackers, What email providers to use, What anti-virus's are best at what they do, How to make sure you don't have/get a keylogger and if you do; How to get rid of it. And many more things! I'm sure the people that have been hacked would appreciate this. Anyone think this is a reasonable idea?

Theres already safety threads in forums such as the help desk forum ect. People should just read them and update them instead.

There's numerous threads within the staff forums relating to account safety - there is only so much you can be told. The rest you have to do yourself (i.e. follow the instructions).

A small department would be great.

People that research into the latest hackings and things.

Why does my name "truely reflect myself"? So if my name reflects me, Your name must reflect you? Meaning your a poor little rebel that shoplifts.

You've got good intentions with this idea but I think that it's a waste. There's already tons of information on that stuff (in the forums and probably on the actual Habbo website).

If you really insist on someone telling you what to do.. here you go:
- Make a strong password that you will remember
- Don't tell anyone it..
- Don't give away your personal details
- Use a seperate e-mail for your real life stuff and online stuff
- Don't be dumb.
- Don't download stuff that seems sketchy/scan it

Anything else?

If you have just posted telling me that the threads in HxHD cover everything that I have just said then take a look at the times the threads where last updated. Some where last updated as long as 4 years ago! There's loads of new tricks in the book! Maybe if HxHD could update them, Then that would be brilliant. :D

There has been many threads posted in the Staff Forums about account safety.

Its pretty simple what to do;
1) Use an email provider like Googemail or Yahoo!
2) Have a different email for your Habbo and HxF accounts.
3) NEVER give these emails out to anyone (Create another one to give out which has no information on)

I think a whole department would be a bit of overkill, some additions to the FAQs and updated threads in the HxHD forums would probably suffice :)

This could be the commuinity support departments job? "Commuinity Support" and I don't really know what they do?!

I updated the Habbo thread in the HxHD Forum help section. The Techy bit still needs to be updated, but that could be done in a day or a few hours. But as Alex said a whole department wouldn't really be needed.

This idea is hilarious to be honest. What y'all need is common sense, not a new group of people telling you not to tell people on games your email address and the answer to your secret question.

Common sense is different to knowing things on a cumputer, If you put a computer infront of someone that had never been on one before, Would you expect them to just be able to go onto it and use all the programs with there common sense? I never knew that just someone knowing my email could get me hacked, I thought that if I had a good password for my email account then nobody could find a way of getting into it but that obviously isn't true and not a lack of common sense either. Theres just so many people getting hacked lately!

It sounds very simple to me, Habbo is an MMO where somone had to have paid actual money for most things in the game at some point, that means that your accounts are actually worth something. The client itself trys to stop you from telling people your email address as they know that some people have the knowledge and/or tools to steal accounts with just your email. The same goes with most MMOs, if you're dumb enough to evade all the measures Habbo puts in place to stop you from telling people your email then you deserver what you get to be honest.

I got "phished" when I was new to Habbo, Do we ever get warned about that?

Nice idea but visit the [HxHD] Habbox Help Desk forum, It has all of those tips + information in there.
Also there was a big announcement recently in staff forums + Habbox Announcements about using the correct email provider.
It would be too much like hard work, To get yet ANOTHER team of staff :P

Maybe the community suppsort staff could work on this issue?

Good idea, get community support staff on it, lets be honest half of HxHD have never heard of a keylogger.

Tbh, some of it doesn't NEED updating.

Just because it's a couple of years old doesn't mean it's not important.
I could talk to Dinasaw about it but I doubt anything needs updating,
I think only recently CHA!NGANG made a decent safety guide.

Here are some of the usfull links from the HxHD section.
Even thought they are a couple of years old, Does NOT mean the programs do not do the job.

Habbo Safety Tips (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=493012)

Computer and outside Habbo help (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=17569)

I will talk to Dinasaw and try to get some of the Super Staff to make a couple more guides.
