To be honest, they need to be scrapped. They are pointless.

they're the most pointless piece of crap ever. They say you do them so you can be put in your GCSE class, well ermmm no. Our results came late so they couldnt do that and everyones basically in the right class anyway.

Plus, they're a piece of piss. I got 8 6 6 without revising and went to bed pretty late. No one really takes them seriously.

I did exactly the same. I'm just not as clever as you :P
I got 6 6 5 without revising (This was 2007)

""I think it is important to have external marking, at Key Stage 2 certainly," said Mr Balls."
LOL Mr. Balls.

You don't do SATs in year 9 do you? It's GCSEs after year 9. I'm glad SATs are being scrapped tbh. I used to get proper nervous about them tbh, dunno why.

Lol if they were that easy surely you would have got higher?

I hope they introduce something else for the Year 9s, purely so that they can get an experience of true test conditions for when they do their GCSEs.

I couldn't get higher than what I got (apart from the 5 but I hate science :))

All exams are pointless. Anyone can sit and read a couple of books before a test and get a good grade but it doesn't mean they are actually that clever... if you get what i mean lol

i suspect if they are getting rid of them then schools will do their own 'SATs' and use them as practice and to place them in rough sets

SATs are already scrapped in Wales. Instead, I did some of my GCSEs this year.

Same. They go on about how they have all of the Maths and Science ones, but they don't want to give them out until they get the English ones back from America. They said it could be TWO MONTHS until we get them.

My school have got them but they won't give them out until they have checked them to make sure they haven't been marked wrong :@

Ed balls is right again. This Ed balls guy definetly has some balls for cancelling this balls exam project. I just hope he shoves it out the door and into a big black bag(s).

If they had a brain to begin with they should of realised they were pointless in the first place.

Mr Balls said that the system of national tests taken by around one million children aged seven, 11 and 14 across England each May was "not set in stone" and may be replaced by assessments tailored to each child's ability level.

SATs are useless I think. They need a harder end of year exam at the end of every school year. If you fail, you have to re-sit the year.

that would just be a waste of time aswell, just like SATS cept you have to re-sit it and thats kinda pointless, its not like there gonna help.

an harder? er no thanks.
