The LHC By Cern Has been launched and has been working now since yesterday around midday(I think) And Hasnot Killed us has it? How doy ou think im typing this post lol. It is impoassible from black holes from the LHC to form because thel just colapzse on them self due to not enough protons to keep them running so dont worrie you'll live another day or year

We have been sucked into a black hole already, didn't you know?

You dont coem out black holes they "Consume" Every partical and proton of light and anythign else. but i undersatnd why you said that. Your new.

Do you honestly think people need a thread to tell them they are still alive?

So you have come to the conclusion that people can not figure out when they are alive or dead, ok.
Thanks for letting me know I'm still alive without this thread I definitely would not have been able to tell.

There's been about 50 million posts saying "we're okay", which the intellectual ones knew already, in the big thread about the LHC - why make another one? It isn't even yesterday they should have been worried about! The actual bang bit doesn't happen until October!

quite right.

They will be colliding protons sometime in the next few days, but this will be at a low energy. The first proper high energy collisions don't start until 21st October.

LOL, you're not valuing my opinion because I'm new? How pathetic is that. I might go cry now and cut myself.

The protons dont collide till 21st October and it's not "impossible" to form black holes from it.
Oh, I thought I was dead, shame.

It is possible yes, but they won't be stable enough and will only exist for a nanosecond or something.

There is nothing to worry about at all when the first protons collide and say something did go wrong which was 1 to 50 million chance then there might be something to worry about but like the chances stated above it's very very very very.... small chance, and anyway they were only expecting to do a small test yesterday, which was 1 beam clock-wise around the machine, they managed 3 clockwise and 3 anti-clockwise which in affect shows they are doing it right as it's more than expected by far.

How could it off killed us yesterday? There not colliding it for a few weeks. All they did was guide some protons around it, Not collide them.. So i dont see why everyone got scared.

Chain reaction, computer failure/malfunction, etc etc.

Well apparently it did and they had to do the classic turn it off and on again :P.

1) Do you really think these people would do something which has the potential to wipe out the Earth? I think not. Do you understand this happened between France and Switzerland. The Swiss don't engage in fights or wars of any kind. What makes you think they'd "destroy" the Earth?
2) These people are highly trained professional scientists. They simply don't do anything wrong. Face it.
Another point... if we all die we die. Nothing we can do about it.

Gawd I find your first point so incredibly annoying. It can wipe out the Earth. And the Swiss stayed neutral in both World wars (to financially benefit) so suddenly they arent going to do this experiment? :S

o my...so you trust these people with your life just because they are "experts"
As for the actual topic, we could still die yet so dont get too happy :P

Even if it did have the potential to wipe out the Earth, they wouldn't do something which was life-threatening.
And yes, I do trust them with my life.
right you all fink the worlds gunna end on 21st october.. first it was 10th september, make your mind up, the worlds not going to end it.
