I need some help with my work obviously. What would you say are the norms in the situation when your in the doctors waiting room? Like, do you speak to anyone, where do you look, where do you sit? I will use those but they were the examples on the sheet they gave us.

I'd give you rep for your suggestions but I have none.

I usually sit on my own and look at either some magazines or just around the room.

Sit in a seat and look around at all the various health posters in the room such as 'STOP SMOKING HOTLINE' even though I don't smoke. Something to do, I suppose :)

The norms of sitting in a GP waiting room would be to sit in silence or whisper to someone. On the other hand, people read the magazines and leaflets set out until they are called in. The reason for the silence is usually do to people being ill with headaches etc, which is why it is expected of us.

(Sociology is fun!)
