Hey, got my xbox a few months ago and I'm really cautious of it. The air from coming out from the back of the xbox is really hot, is this a problem or just standard practice?

Well mine was hot on other 2 xbox's, and they got RROD - dno if related
If its next to a wall, move it forward abit and make sure air is circulating, and it should be fine =]

Its normal but make sure that air flow isnt obstructed as its removing the hot air to stop your xbox from overheating.

I promise its not.
If hot air wasn't meant to come out the back they wouldnt add in the holes for it.
Its just your fan expelling the hot air, you cant avoid it unless you have a modified xbox that uses water to cool it.

Also, whoever said you cant unless you have a modded xbox this isnt true, you can get a cooler from microsoft and like ANY retail store for like £40.
And mine is right next to my wall on my shelf with about 3 inches before it hits the wall and its always hot, had mine since last Christmas, nothing wrong yet

Its sounds pretty normal as someone already keep it away from a wall. I would not recommend playing for hours upon end and give your console breaks to cool down. I keep mine on my glass stand underneath my tv 12 inches from the wall and keep my door open.
