Okay, this may seem a litle dumb but anyway.
When I do push ups i feel 'the burn' more in my left arm then my right, is this normal? or do i do my push ups wrong?

Exactly what i was going to say.
And renember it's about the quality of reps you do not the quantity, don't let your ego get the best of you.
Renember you should go all the way down and then PUSH all the way back UP (hence why it's called a push up) in a slow and controlled movement

Also make sure that you warm up before you do them, it's a very strenuous exercise on the body so you should really do some stretching before you do them - it'll improve your work out.

Renember "lift slow to grow"
So if you want to improve on your push ups, keep at 3 sets of 20 push-ups about 5 times a week for two weeks and increase the ammount of pushups you do the next (eg, 3 sets of 25)
You can also make it harder for yourself by decreasing the recovery time and increasing the sets.
Maybe you should try doing some v-pushups and walk-aways, people usually see great results by doing them (look on youtube if unsure)

You do pushups for fun? LOL. Pushups are designed to work your whole upper body, mainly your chest area.
