Right, I'm starting up my football again (in Year 12 now) for a new club.
Basically, I need to get new boots so I just needed to ask...

Would plastic, or metal blades be better for the football season?

It's said that plastic ones are better for 'Good Ground / Firm Ground' and the Metal blades for 'Soft Ground / Wet / Good Ground'.

Thanks.

I used to get two pairs each time. I always got one with metal blades and one with moulded blades. The moulded blades are for hard grounds and the metal blades for soft ground.

Don't get metal blades. You've heard all the stories about the pro's with them. Breaking other player's legs and the blade getting stuck in the ground and causing serious injury.

Doesn't effect him.

Yeah. I would do that but I only really want to get one pair and I was wondering what would be best. :P
Normally I get metal blades but I want to know what is really more efficient sort of thing.

I think I might have to get moulded blades as I'm not sure if the stores or online do:

http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-002-009-266&DEPT=2&BRAND=9&SS=1&PROFILE=Power

In metal blades.

I'll ask if they do them in metal blades.

So the question really now is, still "are metal blades better than moulded/plastic in general", along with "are moulded/plastic blades any good?".

Thanks.

EDIT: Geraint, thanks. Although, I'm not really the sort of player that goes in for slide tackles and all of my previous boots haven't got stuck in the ground before but yes, there is a chance but I don't really think it'll happen. If it was to though, my funeral. Lol.
Thanks. :)

metal blades are illegal in games if its an official ref on non-artificial pitches

i only use blades for astroturf

well, think the copa mundial's are amazing as you can use them on basically any surface, astro or wet pitch or firm pitch etc, they are very good material as welll, they are moulded studs btw but are amazing.

Okay thanks guys but now I've got another question...

What really are best in your opinions?
• Metal Studs
• Moulded Studs
• Moulded Blades

Because one of my friends said that studs are better (and I don't really like them anyway - or at least metal studs at that).

Thanks very much, all appreciated. +repz.

So, which of these links given would you recommend (and with what blades or studs)?

1) Shoot II - Moulded Blades - £31.99 (http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-002-009-273&DEPT=2&BRAND=9&SS=1&PROFILE=Power)
2) Shoot II - Metal Studs - £31.99 (http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-002-009-272&DEPT=2&BRAND=9&SS=1&PROFILE=Power)
3) Shoot II - Moulded Studs - £39.99 (http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-002-009-274&DEPT=2&BRAND=9&SS=1&PROFILE=Power)
4) Strike II - Moulded Blades - £64.99 (http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-002-009-266&DEPT=2&BRAND=9&SS=1&PROFILE=Power)

Thanks very much.

If i was you i'd get Moulded studs, but Copa Mudials not Shoot II Copa mundial's are which I have very lightweight, very good material, very easy to skim past people, very good shoot accuracy.

Thanks.
Don't think I'll get Copa Mundials though.
The ones that I've just seen (don't know if you have them) are £75 and don't look that nice. :(

Does anyone here have the Total 90 Shoot II boots or Total 90 Strike II boots?
I'm fine with paying more than the others if advised to get the Strike II ones (they also look nicer to me).
Just need to know the pro's really.

Neither really make a difference, I have metal studs but go for metal blades. :)

Metal blades?
Don't really want to go for them anymore after all the people saying moulded.
Plus, they don't do the boots that I want in Metal Blades (see links).

Thanks though.

Okay seen the links. Dont get them in metal studs, moulded blades would be the best option.

I don't like the guards on the boots.

There's nothing wrong with metal studs either. I've always worn metal studs but the last pair of boots I bought were moulded blades.

Yeah, I know but I just personally don't like them. :P
Not very helpful/don't feel too good when I'm playing on hard ground.

who cares about the look? I don't care, Personally, I want the best out of my feet, so I wear the BEST boots, don't care how they look as the old retro style is coming back anyway, you can get them for cheaper, and they're definately worth it.

Not really worth paying a bit over the top for me if they don't even look good.
I would expect Geraint to have something to say in response to the bolded sections of the quote, lol.
