My new computer has been dispatched today, and I now have an old one (currently using windows xp). What operating system should I put on it?

And I would run Ubuntu, mess around with it abit if you're new to Linux, then if you're into this sort of stuff, put webmin on it or something similar, and host some websites!

Ubuntu, it is one of the best free operating systems out there, and by far one of the eazyest linux ones to operate/install.

OpenSUSE, it's a nearest to XP linux you can get really, a large community and very user friendly, it's more advanced than ubuntu aswell which means you can get the real linux experience.

Definitely go for Ubuntu or something Linux based. Fantastic learning experience that will help you if you want to go into a business relating to Linux servers/computers.

I would of suggested it but it's a bit too hard to start with.
