HABBOS.NET - THE END
http://habbos.net/imagehosting/2446e174450cc2.gif

All good things must come to an end and, unfortunately, it's time for us to shut up shop and move on to bigger and better things. We've lost all interest in Habbo and with recent problems the site has ran in to, we've run out of energy required to run such a big site. It's been nearly 3 years since we opened and in that time we've accomplished things others couldn't. We tried our hardest to provide a place for people with similar interests to come together and discuss things in a fun and friendly environment.

Of course, the success of the forum lies primarily on the shoulders of our members and those who chose to volunteer as a staff member. We've had staff with us since the very beginning, and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has ever contributed anything to the site, be it by posting or dedicating countless hours trying to better the forum. Without you, none of this would have been possible and we truly are grateful.

We're taking a few things away from this though - and those are the memories of all the drama, all the laughs and all the fun we've had as a community. The most important thing we're taking away are the countless friendships formed whilst using the forum, and as such we hope you take away the memories and the friendships and continue to be the great people you are and go the very furthest in life that you can. Each and every one of you as an individual person (and even if you didn't show it...) have talents and personalities that can and will take you far in life.

We'd like to once again thank the staff of the forum, the members and:

Habbo SG - for providing the best support for fansites out of all of the hotels. In our time as an official fansite, no hotel has been as supportive as the girls from SG and we'll always be thankful for their constant willingness to help and promote us in whatever way they could.

Habbo AU - for giving us the first international fansite spot on your hotel and for providing the best support you could wherever possible. We were a little sidelined towards the end, but for what you did for us we truly hope that even though some criticism was harsh (*cough* Kai *cough*), you found some usefulness from the site and we hope you continue rocking down under :)

Puffin, Teetoo, La_Brea & Squib - Thank you guys for the support you gave us. Puffin for being more than willing to promote the site in-game and on the webpage, Teetoo & La_Brea for helping us retain official status when Moiraine went on a PMS power trip and to squib for the email contact and being more than willing to take up any spare chocolate Tom had to offer.

CrashCarson - Though you may be the newbie of the bunch, you really helped us out when we required an article to be posted and your responses were always fast and helpful. :)

Where are they now?

Tom ~ comatose in the gutter with a half-bottle of gin
Andy ~ preparing for the next Britney tour ('cause we all know Circus will be huge ;))
Thomas ~ giving Bill Gates a run for his money! Thomas XP ftw!
Charlie ~ probably on a beach somewhere in Aus in the nude...

Fun Facts

Date of Birth: 18th December 2005
Date of Closure: 17th September 2008
2,001,928 posts created
Over 24,000 members
Polisher was an entirely fictional character
...so was Noel
Tom was drunk 88.7% of the time (seems a little low, we know)

I guess this brings us to the end of our goodbye page... the group pages on the hotels will remain unchanged and hopefully stay there forever - so the sites spirit can live on! From this point, this page as well as all related Habbos.NET pages (rare values, goodies etc) will no longer be updated.

Quite sad to see it go! It wasn't much of a UK Fansite, but it was huge on .AU, .CA and .COM!

I, as a member of the Habbos.NET staff team feel it is sad, but it has been open for so long, it is sad to see it go. There WERE a lot of competitions etc ready to take place, and I feel funding may be responsible for its loss as premium cannot be bought anymore.

People grow up and out of Habbo, this is a prime example of this.

Hey guys,

Thomas here (habbos.net management) thanks for the comments (L)

It's really shocking to see how many people are affected by this, on our habbo groups people are saying they're upset - I'll miss habbos and have loved working on it.

Adios!

Sad to hear habbos is closing now, I heard about the problems they were facing and Tom even thought about the idea of closing or removing themselves as official - never thought it would actually happen! They were professional, did the job right & clearly entertained the public - they will be missed! :)

As a regular member of habbos.net for 2 years, I haven't nothing much to say, other than I'm gutted. I would love for it to come back for a day or two, for us all to post our goodbye messages. I think a main reason for this closure is the fact it went downhill after losing premium. I also think that the fact it was down for mait and problem after problem happened then/

lol its a shame really. without a doubt the most popular fansite ever in terms of international attention, memberships, etc although admittedly it wasnt too popular on habbo uk (at least not as popular as sites like this). it was a real pleasure being given a chance to work for such a respected site.
