Right, before I go one I'd like to outline I'm not looking for a supremely amazing pc :P.

Right, so I want a new machine, but I don't know whether to get a desktop and compromise having portability, or get a laptop with worse specs but have the portability option.

I have a laptop at the moment, but it's nothing special and the specs of it suck, so taking it anywhere will be for menial tasks lol.

Anyway, what I'm asking is should I get a decent pc or a less-decent laptop?

What will you be using it for. If you want to be gaming or have a lot of HDD space you will need a desktop.

The way I see it is that if you already have a crappy laptop, why by another?!

I didn't mean that it would be a crappy laptop, just not as good as the desktop.

And I use it for gaming, for web design and that obv, school work (that'll probs be done on laptop now) and just general surfing.

Yeah I might just go with the pc.

Thanks for everyone's input. I was sort of swaying towards the pc, but now it's probs gona be the thing I do.
