In my opinion, it was the perfect ending.I've been reading alot of mixed opinions over at Prison break manhunt (http://www.prisonbreakmanhunt.com/) the general opinion seems to be what you have described. But let's face it, in all they've been through did these people seriously think it'd end with them all walking down the beach smiling cheek to cheek? That would have been a much more poorly written ending. It was brave of the writers to take this path, but it was a better choice than what they could have made.

Great way to end it, but very upsetting :'( He died a hero, and maybe in 10 years or so there may be a prison break 2 or somesort with his son ;)

Heh, I don't know if that'd be such a good idea. Sequels have had a habit of tainting a good name in the past, I'd sooner see Prison Break left where it is now. Miller was one of the reasons I watched it, he put alot of work into his character and created the right feeling for Prison Break, something which I feel would be hard to match without him.

It's finished forever. Cancelled.
I would have preferred if they cancelled Lost rather than Prison Break. So mean.
"The May season finale is not it for Prison Break. According to TVShowsOnDVD.com (http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Prison-Break-The-Final-Break/11657), a direct-to-DVD movie called Prison Break: The Final Break will be arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on July 21st. The 88-minute feature will “put the exclamation point at the end of a four-year-long ’sentence,’” says the site." But still, it's over :(
Wait next Wednesday, next week. That's too long! I'm going to buy every season on DVD because I only starting watching it during the 2nd or 3rd.:P
I thought the ending was happy...

No, that's just what the website thinks and makes us think.
On the gravestone it clearly says 'Husband'. So Michael and Sara are already married and that picture is from the upcoming episode. It must go back in time. Showing you how everyone got on with their lives. :)

Here are a few comments which imo are.. wow.
This is one that stood out, which sounds true.
I Don’t know if he’s dead, i think he is, but there are some strange things. The date he got himself into Fox River it was April 2005, his tombstone says he died November 2005. that means he got himself into prison, he got out, he ran away, he got into sona, got out, and got scylla, that all in just 8 months! if he is dead, and they married, them they married just after they were free, then he died right after that, and never saw his son, because that can not in 8 months so maybe he IS still alive.. some peaople say he also got sarah out of prison in those 4 years, if that is so, then he must be alive. 8 months is to short for all that! i can’t figure it out! sorry for my bad english guys i’m dutch

From same site as up there ^
Michael, Lincoln, Sara and co may have removed the thorn in their side, the Company, but happiness is short-lived. The two-hour action spectacular begins with a trip down the aisle as Michael and a heavily pregnant Sara tie the knot. As ever, Lady Luck holds the lovebirds in disregard, and the newlyweds have no time to enjoy the delights of marital bliss. Michael is forced to cancel any honeymoon plans when Sara is arrested for the murder of mother from hell Christina Scofield and, without so much as a trial, sent to Miami-Dade Women’s Prison, where the Doc is reunited with a familiar, but hardly friendly face. Meanwhile, Krantz isn’t adapting to his abode, Miami-Dade Men’s Prison, but his mood soon brightens when he finds out about Sara’s predicament. Krantz decides to while his hours of incarceration by plotting her demise, putting a mark on head for the princely sum of $100,000. Wicked word soon reaches Miami-Dade Women’s Prison, and a vulnerable Sara must fight for survival. In a fitting farewell that ensures the show flies the coop on the headiest of highs, Michael and friends reunite to break Sara out.
So it goes back 4 years and shows us everything. But then if Michael faked his death to take down the company, that's a whole different story which I doubt they could cram into two episodes. It's finishing forever. Who knows. :S
Well first off I was pretty sad when I saw his grave, all my family were crying haha (I wasn't :))

No it's cancelled.
I honestly believe he is still alive.. hence that origami thing, he used them to find of where to go (dig), now this may be a sign which some people may catch up on (myself) and think heh hes alive and gone to work for the U.N or i also picked up on when they were on the beach he had a nosebleed which relates back to his brain disease which in other terms mean the operation failed and he was going to die. Hard conclusion though, i think the 2 hour special will have a surprise twist in it, as michael coul well have been put down as dead, but the writers thought it would be a nice twist to the story, as their son showed no emotions towards going to the gravestone or sarah did either.

I agree, Prison Break is an immense show. Here are the ratings from 2005-2009:
Average viewers in millions:
2005 - 2006 = 9.2
2006 - 2007 = 9.3
2007 - 2008 = 8.2
2008 - 2009 = 5.3

Episodes 21/22 were the finale to the entire series, there will not be anymore episodes which show what happens to them after this point and such The Final Break will show what happened during the 4 year flash forward we see in the finale. Sara might have come to terms with Michaels death by now considering it was some time ago at this point, I wouldn't say she showed no emotion though. The origami cranes where something Michael used in a number of ways, he used them to let Abruzzi know he knew where to find Fibonacci and could therefore minipulate Abruzzi because of the information he had and of course used them as a way to get a message to Sara in season 2. This is more symbolism other than anything else in my opinion, as is the tattoo that Michael Jr. gets before they go to visit Michael. Remember that this all started with Linc because Linc was framed for the supposed murder of Terrence Steadman and after learning that this all came about as a result of Linc getting money to fund Michaels education he had to break Linc out of Fox River. Every since they broke out all he's wanted is for it to end, however this hasn't always happened because of helping out others as he is compelled to do so (remember when Sara visited the psychiatrist where Michael used to work?) and avenging Sara's death at the start of season 4, obviously this wasn't the case as he quickly learned from Gretchen. Therefore I doubt Michael would have much interest or need to fake his own death, especially since how he reacted to news he would become a father and the promises he made to Sara.
It would spoil what was what I consider, a perfect finale for the series if your predictions were correct.

Judging by a signature of another user I contested previously in this thread, you do.
Anyway, just finished watching The Final Break.
A very poetic ending that I felt was just right, to think that he died from the same fate he set out to save Linc from at the very start was a clever choice by the writers. It tied up most of the loose ends quite well, although it still left me wondering how T-Bag ended up back in Fox River, that wasn't explained. It's comforting to know that Michael wasn't long for this world anyway when Sara got locked up but it's sad to know that he never got the chance to see his child.

Yeah, I liked the ending. It's a shame the whole thing seemed a little rushed though. T-bag didn't end up in fox river did he? The prison didn't look like it, to me it was the same one he was in already.
I suppose it may have worked out better in the end as he would have ended up dying anyway, but this way he got his "brother" out, met and had a child with Sara and got them $100k. They're not properly free though as people will be looking for them so that's a bit hmmish.

I'm pretty sure it was Fox River, when it zooms out is shows the same layout and rooftops we saw in Season 1, pretty sure of it anyway. I guess your right, Sara still isn't free and neither is Linc now seeing as he helped her escape, same goes for Mahone and Sucre if they get the evidence. Although I suppose if they were going south of the border the chance of them been found are pretty low considering Bellick didn't find Surce that easily in season 2. I agree with you it seemed abit rushed, I was looking forward to the entire elaborate and clever escape plan that we saw from Michael in season one, especially since the prison was "air tight". Would have been more thrilling without the flash forward from the series finalie though.

I don't think it did when they did the day - night background thing, and if it was Fox River I reckon they would have made more of a deal about showing it. Also, the way T-bagh was acting it was as though they had suddenly thrown him into the more secure area of the prison he was in rather than transporting him. I dunno though. A very sad ending but I liked it.

It was definitely the SHU they were putting in him, no doubt about that. I agree the ending was good although I found someones thoughts over at Prison Break Manhunt (http://www.prisonbreakmanhunt.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6015) brought up some concerns about it though, although he is been abit critical. Anyway I was compelled to prove my point about Fox River so I went back into my archives and took some shots, looking back at it, the scene zooms out in the exact same way it does in the Pilot as it does in Killing Your Number.
