Hi there :),

At first I was slightly iffy about avatars but now after watching this video with Major Nelson, I simply am amazed.

It is so detailed, with so many options and customizations available, I think it is going to be a fantastic update.

I agree. They clearly have spent a lot of time on it.

What I found more amazing was how fast it was to get from the dash board to that point with the new dashboard style. On the current dashboard it takes time for each blade to load up and flicking between each one isn't as fast even with them pre-loaded. Although I will miss the blade design, I cannot wait for the new design :).

The avatars were mentioned on Playr and Playr2 (mostly on Bravo). Still, nice to see them being added to 360

They look nothing alike? It wasn't even Wii's idea to create an online avatar, SecondLife & Sims.. Also if you're going to do that *cough* Xbox's achievement system ;)

You do know these were in design BEFORE the Wii was released however decided to hold back on the idea so they didn't risk the chance of them becoming corrupt when the new dashboard comes in...

Yeah, there is a rumour about Microsoft Games holding a conference on that day too, to discuss upcoming game releases.

Major Nelson buried that '25th' rumor on his podcast 2 weeks ago with Mark Whitten and himself, for those who dont know they are the bigwigs in XBL.

To be honest, it is quite similar. The things are even called Channels (He said "go to the My Xbox channel")

Its something I'm looking forward to, i find the dashboard at the moment a bit old. Want something fresh and modern like this :P

I dunno, the new dash looks cool but this just looks like an extra feature that I just cant see myself liking, no matter how many hours I'll spend trying to make it look like me.

I dislike the PS3 design to be honest. This looks a lot better.

Competitors always copy each other, nothing new there.

That's how it is, 360 copied Miis, PS3 copied achievements and second life, Wii copied..360 with "Wii Points"..? :S

Wii/ps3 copy thought i have 360 and think it will rox, microsoft don't half steal ideas. Guess it dates all the way back to Windows 1.0.
