Forum Changes

Hey guys,

We are going to be making most non essential changes and big updates on Sundays right now. This way we have a set day for making improvements, and it forces us to make decisions in time for the deadline. Also it gives users a day where they know changes will be made so they have something to look forward to, and they are also able to see if their suggestions were looked into. We think this will be a positive change as it will ensure we make changes weekly, and also stops us from putting off tasks indefinitely.

Of course, every now and then the changes might come a little early or a little late, there might be site changes and not forum changes, or vice versa, but usually we will bring you a good amount of updates, major or minor, each Sunday. Or at least that is what our aim will be, let's see how well the new system works ;)

The forum changes we will be making this week are:

VIP+ Improvements
Changes to the filter
Addition of notices and welcoming PMs

We will have very big changes next week, including two overhauls, and possibly a third, so this week's changes aren't as massive. They still will offer an improved experience though.

The following words have been removed from the filter:

arse
ass
arses
asses

Thanks to Technologic for starting this discussion (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=518342) and many other users for their input.

Please note that while these words are being allowed for their colloquial uses, we still do not tolerate users using them towards other members.

The word "*****" has been refiltered as we simply do not see a reason for it to remain unfiltered - it is rarely used in the nonoffensive context but our moderators have been infracting a lot of posts that use the word in it, so we have refiltered the word.

We have also added another adult word who's adjective form was unfiltered, but noun form was not. I'll let you guys figure out which one that was, just for fun ;) Though it won't be very hard for some.

Based on suggestions, the first one by Dentafrice, and more products of the General Management's overactive imagination, we have implemented Notices for several occasions. Notices will be displayed when:

Users are in the moderated users bit so they know why their posts don't show up, and also some helpful links.
It's their birthday - a nice little happy birthday message from HabboxForum.
Users have not visited for 30 days - a welcome back message
Users have not posted in 30 days/at all
Users have a high number of infractions, to warn them about their high infraction count.

We have made three improvements to VIP+.

VIP+ no longer see ads on the forum
VIP+ will get 30 rep points per month, as opposed to the 15 they were getting.
We have added two new VIP+ only colors, they are DODGER BLUE and HOT PINK by popular demand. These colors will only be available to VIP+s. Though we are aware of Dodger Blue's proximity to the Easter Color, they are different. We may consider changing it to Royal Blue at a later date - but this will be offered to VIP+s as a vote.

In other news, the Purple VIPs may notice a change, the color for purple VIP has been changed to a different Purple VIP. Hopefully you all enjoy it!
