Hey every1, firstly let me explain what Prodrive is for the people who dont know.
Prodrive is one of the world’s leading motorsport and automotive technology businesses, employing more than 1000 people at operations in the UK, Thailand and Australia. "We work with vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers to help them create cars consumers want"
Right, now down to bussiness, I am in year 11 at school and currently attend college 2 days a week doing a Motor Vechicle apprentice. I receieved a Letter from Prodrive offering me a 3 Year Apprentice course with them staring June 2009. It would consist of 14,700 pounds a year pay for the three year apprentice and i would be given accomidation in the area i will be working/learning.
I am unsure wheather to take it or not and need a little bit of advice here/?
P.S Sorry if in wrong place, didnt know where to put it.

Perhaps a bit of background information on what this apprenticeship will consist of would be good but it sounds alright money, especially as they pay for accommodation. And seeing as your interested in motor vehicles cause you took the course, it must be what you want so I'd go for it?
Prodrive are an excellent company and one of the best motoring companies left in the UK. They were actually going to enter Formula 1 this year and they got permission to but due to a lack of funding and a change in rules it fell through, however they haven't confirmed themselves out for next year yet (Very unlikely but you never know).

The apprenticeship is to cover all aspects of Motor Vechicle Mechanics, Computer side and mangerial side. After a year of that i choose an area i would like to go into, for instast say i choose mechanics, i would be placed with one fo the rally teams they sponser and would spend a further 2 years working with them while completing portpholio based work to finish my course. At the end of course i could then be able to apply for a full-time job with them.

i'd personally jump at an opportunity like that
To me, that sounds like an excellent opening for you :)
I mean, an apprenticeship actually gives you the experience needed in the work place, and thats what employers usually look for.
And the prospect of staying on with them sounds promising too.
I would take it if I was you
