how do i update manually? i don't think you can but it's worth seeing if any of you guys know how. i think i'm on wave 3 and i wanna update to wave 4 but it hasn't asked me if i want to update yet.

Been using it now for about 20 mins, seems a cleaner interface and much quicker to use.

I have a few gripes, though.

- Sign in is a little slow, it takes at least 20 seconds.
- MSN plus is not compatible as of this moment in time.

If those problems arent important to you, go ahead and download, its a great update!

I remember the first WLM beta that I downloaded, I absolutely loved it but they abandoned the look in favour of a completely different and more generic one :(

I love my theme on the WLM I have now too much to ever change to a new version, may 8.1 live on forever :P

Everyone hates the green around the display pics but I dont think people realise what its for :P, when someone sets themself to away there dp border turns orange, when they set themself to busy it turns red, its supposed to make things easier, I didnt like it at first but I kind of do now :)

I dont like the fact that every time I resize the convo window and the size that I see my DP it changes itself back whenever I open another convo.

It is a good update, they seem to have tried realy hard to give us what we want. I do think we should have the option to either display the display pictures on the right or left though

I've heard from someone on the BETA tester team that they may make you ungrade to Windows Live Messenger 9. Like they did with 7.5, they made you upgrade to 8.5

Ive had all 4 versions of WLM 9, The first one was basically just the sig sounds and animated DPs, 2nd one was the DPs on the left and favorites area.
3rd one was the coloured frames, scenes and the changes of the status'
4th one i dunno really the differences.
