If you were gonna classify Billy Talent anything other than punk it would be screamo.
It isnt pop cause pop is usually mainstream or "popular"

Yuh you could try some of blondies punk music. Like the album Plastic letters, Parts of Parallel lines and even some parts of the self titled album blondie (but thats more innocent punk but you could have a listen). But yeah the album plastic letters is classic punk music.
