In what way are we harming the cows by taking their milk? They produce milk, it's drinkable so why not drink it? Using human milk would have the same effect on humans as it would on the cows because your taking it from them both. Yeah, cows milk is for baby cows. And a womans milk is for her baby.

So, PETA's point exactly?

Okay, im Vegetarian and i hate that i drink milk, but i don't want to be vegan because im still a midget dammit and i hope to grow.
And well i would'nt last proberly.

There are reason's as to why people don't want to drink milk the process is'nt as simple as it sounds, it is'nt just oooh look the cow wants to be milked.

But i think that urging ben and jerrys to use brast milk is stupid.
I ain't drinking no random womans titty milk tyvm.

Although would help me go vegan because Ben and Jerrys stops me ahah.

Pffft, the word PETA prove to me what aload of rubbish the rest of the article will be. PETA are the people who kill animals to stop others from killing them  They take animals in, film them being killed e.g. the KFC incident then they tell everyone they're animal lovers. This won't happen, a cow isn't being harmed when it's being milked and it's good for human consumption. Why can't someone nuke the PETA headquarters :(

EDIT: Oh I see, it's an american thing, most of the cows in the UK are free to roam around. I like how PETA see one article about 1 man using breat milk that they immediately do the annoying thing and think "everyone can do it." Urgh.

"We applaud PETA's novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother's milk is best used for her child," said a spokesperson for Ben and Jerry's.

I love B&Js :D

So, they'd rather a human go through the "suffering" than an animal?

Dairy cows are artificially impregnated so they constantly produce lots of milk. Like humans, cows only produce milk for their offspring.

When the cow gives birth, the baby is immediately taken away from its mother, for meat or whatever it'll be used for--and this puts the mother under loads of stress.

In what way are we harming the cows by taking their milk? They produce milk, it's drinkable so why not drink it? Using human milk would have the same effect on humans as it would on the cows because your taking it from them both. Yeah, cows milk is for baby cows. And a womans milk is for her baby.

Humans have more rights than animals lol, so obviously the system would work differently.

I know we have more rights but that's the way it'd end up. Employing & exploiting the poor & needy for this job to meet supply demand.

im sorry, but would it not be really difficult to get breast milk, i mean it would have to come from some woman whos had a baby, and is prepared to sit or hours milking herself, because as far as i know, breast milk only comes out very slowly

So hows that harmful then?

It isn't really, it's just the idea of them getting pregnant over and over again (which isn't usually harmful for them) seems a bit wrong, and the calves being removed at a young age is a bit depressing. Even though that report is in the US, the UK do things alot differently, and I even think there is a way for cows to produce milk using a type of hormone.

All mammals can produce milk. It's what makes them mammals - the mammory (I think) glands.

It seems "a bit wrong" and "a bit depressing"; I'm sure if you were taken away from your mother as soon as she gave birth to you she'd of felt a little more deeply than that.

Precisely, if it was fully wrong and fully depressing, people will be crying on the street and rugby tackling the farmers responsible. I don't see that happening, so it's only a bit depressing and a bit wrong :P As far as I see it, there's nothing wrong. It's been going on for years and some over-hyped, self-glorified morons won't stop that :/ And if the cows care so much, how comes there aren't stories of cows killing farmers or destroying property? They aren't gassed or drugged, because this will effect the quality of the milk produced. They don't seem to care, it's only human's who seem to think they do :/

Plus the birth rate for human's would be terrible if they did this. I would rather cows got eaten and milked rather than see anymore in the UK.
